AudioSolutions Overture – Retreaded entry level series in third generation

It is a new version of the entry-level line AudioSolutions Overture, which will be presented these days with the first models AudioSolutions O304F and AudioSolutions O305F. This new product line of the loudspeaker specialist from Lithuania is to be completely in line with the company’s tradition and present itself as ambitious high-end products with outstanding sound characteristics at very attractive prices.

The company AudioSolutions has been developing and manufacturing loudspeaker systems since 2011, and is committed to the motto “The Art and Science of Speaker Engineering”. The company was founded in Lithuania by Gediminas Gaidelis, who is not only the owner but also the developer, and who can point to many years of expertise in speaker construction.

AudioSolutions is now presenting a new version of the entry-level line AudioSolutions Overture, with the promise of models for this third generation that will be clearly different from their respective predecessors. The Lithuanian company claims to have made changes to the cabinet, the chassis and the crossover in order to achieve its goal of offering high quality solutions at attractive prices.

Initially, two models from the new generation of the AudioSolutions Overture Series will be launched: AudioSolutions O304F and AudioSolutions O305F. Both models are floorstanding loudspeaker systems, which are announced as a precursor to the five models of the product line.

According to the manufacturer, all models of the new AudioSolutions Overture series of the third generation are based on the so-called Box-in-a-Box principle. This way of designing the cabinet has been used in the particularly high-class product series AudioSolutions Virtuoso and AudioSolutions Figaro, and has now been adopted for the new AudioSolutions Overture model series. The third generation speakers are based on a light inner and a heavier outer cabinet structure, with the two components separated by a damping layer of polyurethane.

For the drivers for the new model generation of the AudioSolutions Overture series, Gediminas Gaidelis relies on the experience gained from the development of the AudioSolutions Figaro series, which was already mentioned. According to the manufacturer’s description, the low and mid-range drivers for the new AudioSolutions Overture generation have been adapted in terms of magnets and voice coils. The modified dome tweeter has been precisely aligned for use in the slightly enlarged mini horn attachment, perfected by AudioSolutions. The phase-linear crossover uses particularly thick circuit boards and, according to the manufacturer, high-grade ironless copper coils.

As already mentioned, the new third generation of the AudioSolutions Overture series will ultimately comprise five models, with the AudioSolutions O304F and AudioSolutions O305F three-way systems being launched initially with the two floorstanding loudspeaker systems. These systems rely on a mid-range driver that covers the range between 1,000 and 2,000 Hz, which is so important according to the manufacturer. This is to avoid possible takeover distortions of a crossover. The special design principle of the speakers also allows the tweeter to be connected only from 3,000 Hz, which benefits its power handling and level stability.

It is interesting to note that the first two models of the new generation feature identical drivers in the high and low frequency range, the only difference being the diameter of the bass drivers.

The AudioSolutions O304F and AudioSolutions O305F each feature a 2.5 cm fabric dome tweeter from Seas and are equipped with 15.2 cm special paper cone drivers from SB Acoustics in the mid-range. The AudioSolutions O304F is equipped with two 15.2 cm drivers for the low frequency range, the AudioSolutions O305F with two 18.3 cm drivers.

During the manufacturing process AudioSolutions relies almost entirely on pure handcraft. Only those parts of the components that require maximum precision are manufactured on CNC machines. The actual assembly, however, is carried out by experienced employees.

The new model generation of the AudioSolutions Overture speaker series will be available in several versions. AudioSolutions manufactures the front part in either high-gloss black or high-gloss white. The body is always matt black in the standard version. Pure wood versions are available for an additional charge, according to the manufacturer. The customer can choose between oak, mahogany and wenge. The scope of delivery includes spikes with M6 thread, matching washers and magnetically adhesive front coverings.

The two forerunners of the new AudioSolutions Overture series are to be available from specialist dealers with immediate effect. The manufacturer is quoting a recommended retail price of € 3,500 for the new AudioSolutions O304F and € 4,100 for the new AudioSolutions O305F, whereby these figures are of course to be understood as pair prices.
