Pro-Ject Debut Aluminium Sub Platter – Upgrade for Pro-Ject Debut model range

Pro-Ject Debut Series drives are fine record players in their own right, but as usual, good things can be made even better with the right solutions. This is exactly what Pro-Ject Audio Systems now offers with the new Pro-Ject Debut Aluminium Sub Platter.

For years and days the so-called Pro-Ject Debut Series has been an extremely important product line of the world market leader in the field of record players, the Austrian company Pro-Ject Audio Systems. Above all, this line is considered a prime example of how Pro-Ject Audio Systems approaches the development of its turntables, offering the best possible quality at an attractive price.

Drives are therefore designed to focus solely on those features that are essential for optimum sound, and the best that is available at the price point of the drive is used.

As with many record players on the market, the drives from Pro-Ject Audio Systems also offer room for further optimisation. This also applies to the drives of the Pro-Ject Debut Series, for which Pro-Ject Audio Systems has always offered a wide range of tuning options. The latest such option is the Pro-Ject Debut Aluminium Sub Platter, which, according to the manufacturer, raises all Pro-Ject Debut models to a new level of quality.

As is well known, the models in the Pro-Ject Debut Series are drives that rely on a so-called sub platter. The drive by means of a belt is therefore not provided by the actual platter, but by the sub platter, which is mounted under the platter. For years, this sub platter has been made of plastic in the Pro-Ject Debut Series turntables, a tried and tested material, although there is still room for further improvements. And this is exactly where the new Pro-Ject Debut Aluminium Sub Platter comes in, because, as the name suggests, it is made of aluminium.

The new Pro-Ject Debut Aluminium Sub Platter is a diamond milled aluminium sub platter, which is manufactured with significantly lower tolerances than normal sub platters. This ensures even greater speed accuracy, especially since it also offers increased mass, which also counteracts speed fluctuations, the so-called wow and flutter. The increased mass also provides additional damping of noise and unwanted resonances, so that the playback quality of the drive is also improved in this respect.

After all, the new Pro-Ject Debut Aluminium Sub Platter weighs 700 g and, as described, can be used with all Pro-Ject Debut record players according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Of course, this sub platter looks particularly elegant on those turntables that are equipped with a partially transparent acrylic turntable.

The new Pro-Ject Debut Aluminium Sub Platter is now available from specialist dealers. The recommended retail price is € 129,-.
