Audio Physic Spark, with which the German high-end company Audio Physic GmbH addresses an extremely important area, because this is supposed to be a compact three-way system. This is clearly intended to appeal to users who want a loudspeaker system of high quality, but who cannot afford too much space for it.

According to the company from Brilon, this closes the gap between bookshelf and floor-standing loudspeaker systems.

Audio Physic PowerTrain Technology

To achieve this, the new generation Audio Physic Spark uses technologies that have already been proven in other models, such as Audio Physic PowerTrain Technology, familiar from the Audio Physic Cardeas.

The Audio Physic PowerTrain Technology focuses on the Audio Physic HHCM SL midrange driver with 150 mm, which, according to the manufacturer, is unique in that it works without a centre spider and transfers the kinetic energy particularly powerfully and efficiently. This is said to be the basis for the new Audio Physic Spark offering a level of resolution previously unheard of for speaker systems in its class.

In addition, the new Audio Physic Spark features an innovative 180 mm woofer system with Dual Surround Technology and the tweeter is an Audio Physic HHCT III tweeter with a 39 mm diameter diaphragm.

In addition, the new Audio Physic Spark incorporates other key innovations from the Audio Physic Cardeas. As the manufacturer himself describes it, the new edition of the icon features the proven multi-sandwich cabinet technology, a high-tech honeycomb construction inside the cabinet, capacitors with copper foam contact in the tweeter filter and tweeter branch, and of course excellently processed materials, from the pole terminal to the chassis.

Technical data

The new Audio Physic Spark is, as described, designed as a three-way system, a 180 mm woofer is combined with a 150 mm Audio Physic HHCM SL midrange driver and a 39 mm Audio Physic HHCT III tweeter.

According to the data sheet of the new Audio Physic Spark, the speaker system is capable of reproducing a frequency range between 40 Hz and 40 kHz. With an impedance of 4 ohms and an efficiency of 88 dB, it is designed for amplifier systems with an output of between 30 and 180 watts.

The Audio Physic Spark measures 483 mm in height, 202 mm in width and 371 mm in depth and thus weighs 18 kg.

Prices and availability

As usual, the Audio Physic Spark will be offered in different versions. The first models will be available in specialist shops within the next few days, in black glass and high-gloss white. The recommended retail price is said to start at € 5.990,-.

Getting to the point

The new Audio Physic Spark is said to achieve uniquely dynamic sound and impressive spatial depth and width, being a compact three-way compact loudspeaker system. Audio Physic GmbH states in this regard that they want to close the gap between bookshelf and floor-standing speaker systems and offer enormous freedom in positioning, but without compromising the acoustic performance. In this respect, a very broad target group could be addressed with this new loudspeaker system.
