The new Pro-Ject Connect it Series, the product line of cables from Pro-Ject Audio Systems, comprises four product lines. The aim is to provide the right cable for every requirement and every budget.

For years, the company Pro-Ject Audio Systems has been offering a wide variety of cables for a wide range of tasks as part of the so-called Pro-Ject Connect it Series. This product line is now to be reorganised in order to expand the range and at the same time provide a better overview. The declared aim is to be able to offer the right cable for every task, but also for every budget.
The Pro-Ject Connect it Series now includes a wide range of connection and speaker cables, which are divided into four product lines – Pro-Ject Connect it E, Pro-Ject Connect it S, Pro-Ject Connect it DS and Pro-Ject Connect it RS.
The right cable for every situation
According to Pro-Ject Audio Systems, cables cannot improve a HiFi chain, but you have to do everything you can to ensure that they do not worsen it. After all, it’s not just the use of a bad cable that can negatively affect the quality of the entire HiFi chain, but also the use of the wrong cable.
Not all cables are the same, as Pro-Ject Audio Systems explicitly states that the different tasks require specialised cables. This is the only way to ensure that you get the best possible result overall. A standard line cable may look the same as a phono cable, but neither is suitable for the other application.
The cables in the Pro-Ject Connect it Series are therefore not only distinguished by different connectors, but also by the fact that the company’s 30 years of experience in HiFi have been utilised to ensure the right choice of materials for conductors, dielectrics and insulation for the various applications, as well as the optimum geometry in the construction.
The new Pro-Ject Connect it Series offers solutions with various connector types in the different product lines, starting with standard RCA phono cables through to true balanced cables with mini XLR or 5-pin DIN tonearm connection.
Four product lines – from E for entry-level to RS for reference series
As already mentioned in the introduction, the Pro-Ject Connect it Series now offers four product lines: Pro-Ject Connect it E, Pro-Ject Connect it S, Pro-Ject Connect it DS and Pro-Ject Connect it RS. The naming of the Pro-Ject Connect it Series thus corresponds exactly to the naming already chosen for the Pro-Ject Box Design Series in order to subdivide the spectrum from the entry-level line – here the Pro-Ject Connect it E Series – to the reference series – Pro-Ject Connect it RS Series.
The Pro-Ject Connect it E Series uses tinned copper as the conductor, while the plugs are gold-plated brass. Oxygen-free copper (OFC) is unfortunately used for the Pro-Ject Connect it S Series solutions and the plugs are made of gold-plated phosphor bronze. The cables in the Pro-Ject Connect it DS Series use high-purity oxygen-free copper and silver-plated copper plugs, while the conductors in the Pro-Ject Connect it RS Series solutions are made of pure silver, at least when it comes to signal cables. High-purity oxygen-free copper is used as the conductor for the speaker cables in this product line. The plugs of the Pro-Ject Connect it RS Series are always made from a beryllium-copper alloy and are then rhodium-plated.

Prices for the Pro-Ject Connect it E Series cables start at € 29,90, the Pro-Ject Connect it S Series cables start at € 79,90, the Pro-Ject Connect it DS Series cables start at € 139,- and the Pro-Ject Connect it RS Series cables start at € 499,-.
Getting to the point
Pro-Ject Audio Systems is completely restructuring its cable product range. The products will continue to be assigned to the well-known Pro-Ject Connect it Series, but in future this will be divided into four product lines that differ in quality and price, whereby the nomenclature is based on the nomenclature of the HiFi components of the Pro-Ject Box Design Series. In future, there will therefore be the Pro-Ject Connect E Series, Pro-Ject Connect S Series, Pro-Ject Connect DS Series and Pro-Ject Connect RS Series, with each of these lines containing everything needed to build a HiFi chain, from signal cables to speaker cables.
