M&K Sound V10+, M&K Sound V12+ and M&K Sound V15+ are the new M&K Sound V+Series and thus a new subwoofer line from the specialist M&K Sound. The declared aim of this product line is simple integration into the living room without having to make concessions in terms of performance. Two models even have THX certification.
With the new M&K Sound V+ Series, the specialist M&K Sound is presenting a new product line of subwoofers, which can boast one decisive feature above all, namely the simplest possible integration into the living space. The new models M&K Sound V10+, M&K Sound V12+ and M&K Sound V15+ are particularly compact and elegant solutions, but the user should not have to worry about a lack of power.
M&K Sound promises that with the new solutions of the M&K Sound V+ Series, very powerful subwoofers are available, whereby the two models M&K Sound V12+ and M&K Sound V15+ can even boast THX certification. These two models are also equipped for simple control with the M&K App.
Lifestyle-friendly High-performance Subwoofer
A subwoofer is essential for accurate imaging in home cinema, even if “home cinema” figuratively refers to a soundbar alone. Many a hi-fi system performs better when it is supported in the lowest frequency range, for example, if you rely on compact bookshelf speaker systems.
The only thing that remains is the fact that subwoofers are not really considered to be all that elegant solutions, so the most discreet integration into the living room becomes a problem for many.
This is exactly where M&K Sound wants to start with the new models M&K Sound V10+, M&K Sound V12+ and M&K Sound V15+, which represent the M&K Sound V+ Series as the successor to the M&K Sound V Series.
The company refers to these as lifestyle-friendly high-performance subwoofers, referring to a comparatively compact design with a small footprint, but also to a thoroughly appealing, discreet design.
The compact subwoofers of the M&K V+ Series are said to feature new curved and tapered outer cabinets, and users can choose between a black and white finish. All models feature the perfect cube shape, according to the manufacturer, who speaks of dimensions of 46.99 cm for the M&K Sound V15+, 39.37 cm for the M&K Sound V12+, and a mere 34.29 cm for the M&K Sound V10+.
If desired, the front can be adorned with a speaker grill held in position by magnets, which is also worth mentioning here.
Powerful for even better performance
Compared to the models of the previous M&K Sound V Series, the new models M&K Sound V10+, M&K Sound V12+ and M&K Sound V15+ are said to be distinguished by a higher performance, whereby particularly efficient and precise amplifier modules in Class D are used.
The smallest model, the M&K Sound V10+, delivers 300 watts RMS and 600 watts peak, the M&K Sound V12+ 400 watts RMS and 800 watts peak, and the M&K Sound V15+ 500 watts RMS and 1,000 watts peak.
As usual with M&K Sound, the names of the new models already indicate the woofers used. Single drivers with a diameter of 10, 12 and 15 inches are used, whereby the manufacturer states that an optimised membrane, specifically a treated, reinforced paper membrane, is used.
By the way, all three models are designed as front-firing subwoofers, whereby the developers at M&K Sound decided on a closed cabinet for particularly precise reproduction.
M&K Sound V12+ and M&K Sound V15+ with THX Certification
The M&K Sound V12+ and M&K Sound V15+ have been certified by THX Ltd, which the manufacturer takes as a guarantee that users will be able to enjoy movies exactly as the producers intended.
The M&K Sound V12+ is designated as THX Certified Select, and the M&K Sound V15+ can even be considered THX Certified Ultra, at least when two models of this type are used. This is how reference levels are to be achieved in the listening room if desired.
M&K App for M&K Sound V12+ and M&K Sound V15+
The M&K App is also available for the two models M&K Sound V12+ and M&K Sound V15+ for particularly convenient and flexible control. This can be downloaded free of charge for Apple iOS and Google Android in the respective app stores. In addition to setting the volume, crossover frequency, delay and phase, the M&K app offers all functions for an optimal configuration.
Manual EQ as well as Auto EQ are available. With Manual EQ, the user can adjust the frequency, gain and Q of four independent equalisers. Auto EQ compensates and corrects for acoustic room anomalies that could cause reduced bass performance. By taking measurements in and around the main listening position, the M&K app applies acoustic corrections to deliver optimised listening conditions and reference bass performance in any living environment – in short, the two models feature automatic calibration along with appropriate adjustment to the individual room.
“With the increasing demand for reference bass performance in living rooms and small home theatres, we felt it was time to revamp our highly successful V Series subwoofers and develop the new V+ Series for a wider, design-conscious and discerning audience.”Per Becher, Chief Executive Officer, M&K Sound
