JBL Reflect Aero – For sporty contemporaries
Harman International Industries is touting the new JBL Reflect Aero as a sporty new addition to its True Wireless headphone range, designed to provide uncompromising music enjoyment even during the toughest workout.
With the JBL Reflect Aero, audio specialist Harman International Industries is adding a sporty new addition to its JBL-branded True Wireless product range. The wireless in-ear headphones are designed to deliver individual sound and are perfectly adapted to every lifestyle – whether on the go or in the gym, as the manufacturer states. It is clear that with the new JBL Reflect Aero, Harman International Industries is targeting a group of people who live an active lifestyle and do not want to compromise on sound quality.
JBL Reflect Aero – Sweating in style
Perfectly adapted to every lifestyle, but especially for people for whom sport plays a particularly important role, that is how the manufacturer promotes the new JBL Reflect Aero. The True Wireless in-ear headphones were developed to accompany the listener at the gym, while trail running or even while walking through the city with the finest sound at all times. In this regard, Harman International Industries once again speaks of JBL Signature Sound.

Tough, secure grip and comfortable
The new JBL Reflect Aero is IP68 certified and therefore dustproof and extremely waterproof. Even salt water can’t harm it, according to the manufacturer’s promise, and it can be cleaned easily after a workout, even under running water. They can even withstand a maximum depth of 1.5 m for up to 30 minutes.
A special feature of the JBL Reflect Aero is that it is equipped with so-called JBL Powerfin ear tips, which are adjustable and are thus supposed to guarantee a particularly secure, yet very comfortable fit in the ear, even during intensive, long training sessions. In order to achieve this, the company also states that it relies on precisely fitting oval tubes.
JBL Signature Sound
As already described, the new JBL Reflect Aero is supposed to feature JBL Signature Sound, whereby the manufacturer promises a particularly dynamic, powerful sound for solid beats, which is ideal for the special sporting orientation.
Responsible for this is a dynamic driver with a diameter of 6.8 mm, which is used in the JBL Reflect Aero.
True Adaptive Noise Cancelling with Smart Ambient Mode
The new JBL Reflect Aero does not have to do without active noise cancellation, which filters out all ambient noise if desired. This is supposed to be particularly accurate, based on four microphones. By means of Smart Ambient Mode, however, you can determine at any time how much of your surroundings you can hear, so as not to be completely isolated. This is ideal when driving in traffic.
Six microphones with beamforming for optimal voice quality
If you use the new JBL Reflect Aero as a hands-free device, there are three beamforming microphones per earpiece, which effectively block out ambient noise such as wind and thus ensure optimum voice quality at all times.
Of course, voice control can also be used, whereby the manufacturer promises direct support for Google Assistant and identifies the headphones as Alexa Built-in. Nevertheless, voice control also works without problems with Apple Siri.

Eight plus 16 hours runtime
The JBL Reflect Aero themselves have a playing time of up to eight hours, with a further 16 hours available via the transport case included in the scope of delivery, which functions as a power bank and charging station. By the way, a quick-charge function is supposed to achieve a playing time of another four hours in 15 minutes.
Charging is via USB-C, and the corresponding cable is of course part of the scope of delivery of the new JBL Reflect Aero.
JBL Headphone App for Apple iOS and Google Android
Of course, the matching app is also essential, which is available in the form of the JBL Headphone App for Google Android and Apple iOS. This app takes on the task of optimally adapting the JBL Reflect Aero to one’s own needs, from the sound via the equaliser to the active noise suppression and the operation. The manufacturer refers to this as all-access touch operation.
A particularly practical feature of this app is that you can test the optimal fit. Only by choosing the right earpieces and the right fit in the ear will the best sound actually be achieved, and this is exactly what the app measures and gives corresponding tips. Check my best fit is the name of this function.

Prices and availability
The new JBL Reflect Aero will be available in several colour options, namely blue, black, white and mint. With the exception of Mint, all options are available immediately from specialist retailers at a recommended retail price of € 149,-. The Mint version will be delivered in August 2022. It should also be mentioned that special attention was paid to resource-saving production. The transport case is much slimmer than previous versions and requires 54 percent less plastic. In addition, the JBL Reflect Aero is delivered in environmentally friendly packaging.
Getting to the point
The new JBL Reflect Aero promises fine sound and optimum wearing comfort in all situations, but Harman International Industries has clearly designed it primarily for sporty users. It is particularly robust, resistant to dust and even salt water, has special adjustable earpieces and offers hands-free voice control with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Siri.
