Story Highlights
  • The new Revox World in Dietikon, which has now opened its doors, should be seen as an experience centre for sound culture and audiophile passion.

It is a new experience centre, a place where sound culture and audiophile passion are combined with technical innovations from over 75 years of audio history around the Revox brand, according to the company Revox Schweiz AG on the occasion of the opening of Revox World in Dietikon. From the company’s point of view, it is very important to note that a place has been created here that goes far beyond a classic technology museum.

According to Revox Schweiz AG, regular guided tours, special exhibitions and interactive formats invite visitors to discover sound history and technology at first hand. Revox World thus sees itself as a lively meeting place for everyone interested in the magic of high-quality audio technology, from sound engineers to music-loving families.

A journey through the milestones of legendary brands

Above all, visitors to Revox World in Dietikon can expect a journey through the milestones of the legendary audio brands Studer and Revox.

The Swiss company was founded in 1948 byWilli Studer, initially focussing on the production of tape recorders under the Revox brand, but the product range was subsequently expanded to include amplifiers, tuners and loudspeakers.

Today, the Revox brand offers a wide range of audio systems for both private and commercial use, including high-quality systems such as the Revox M 500 or Revox M300 and a complete range of top-quality loudspeakers. Revox also offers a multi-room system developed in-house, which is designed for custom installation in both private and commercial environments, making music available at the highest level throughout the entire house or hotel.

Of course, one product should not go unmentioned, especially as Revox is increasingly focussing on it again: the Revox B77 tape machine, which has been completely further developed and significantly improved and is now available as the Revox B77 MKIII.

Based in Dietikon in Switzerland, Villingen-Schwenningen in Germany, Salzburg in Austria and Brooklyn in the USA, the company employs around 150 people and remains true to its tradition of offering music lovers an unadulterated sound experience, as the manufacturer expressly emphasises.

A journey through 75 years of technical innovation

The new experience centre in Dietikon is also intended to reflect this, as the company emphasises, with exhibits ranging from the iconic tape recorders from the early years, which were also used for broadcasts from the Swiss parliament and, as already mentioned, to today’s high-end systems that set new benchmarks. The majority of the exhibits are in perfect working order, and many of them are impressively staged in live demonstrations.

“This centre is a place of fascination for technology lovers, music fans and anyone who is enthusiastic about precise Swiss audio culture. Our aim is to bring history to life and make innovation audible.”

Beat Frischknecht, owner of the Revox Group

Getting to the point

It is a place where sound culture and audiophile passion are conveyed based on solutions from the Revox and Studer brands from over 75 years of company history, not in the style of a conventional technology museum, but in the form of a versatile experience centre, according to the Revox Group’s intention for the new Revox World, which is located at the Revox Schweiz AG site in Dietikon.
