- At High-end 2025, Clearaudio electronic GmbH presented the new Clearaudio Compass for the first time, a turntable aimed at beginners but designed to offer them the best quality.
With the new Clearaudio Compass, Clearaudio electronic GmbH is opening up a new dimension of entry into the High-end world of analogue music playback, according to the German company’s promise at the presentation of the new turntable at High End 2025.
The ready-to-play turntable combines precise German engineering, excellent sound performance and elegant design – and at a price that previously seemed unthinkable, as the company explicitly emphasises. Equipped with a specially developed tonearm and cartridge, the Clearaudio Compass brings the core values of Clearaudio into a compact format for discerning beginners and style-conscious music lovers.
Squaring the circle
It was a very special challenge to fulfil all the quality standards that the Clearaudio brand has always stood for, yet to design a record player that is so attractively priced that it can appeal to a very broad target group.
“We deliberately wanted to develop a record player that embodies all the fascination of High-end audio, but is affordable for more people. What initially seemed like squaring the circle, we were able to realise through a sensible balance of manufacturing and series production. Compass is the result of this two-year development process.”
Robert Suchy, Managing Director Clearaudio electronic GmbH
New tonearm, new cartridge – Clearaudio T1 tonearm and Clearaudio N1 MM cartridge
The Clearaudio Compass is a turntable ready for immediate use, equipped with the new Clearaudio T1 tonearm. This is a more compact version of the award-winning Clearaudio Satisfy tonearm, as emphasised by Clearaudio electronic GmbH. Another new development is the cartridge used in the new Clearaudio Compass, the Clearaudio N1 cartridge, an MM cartridge.
Highest precision for best results
At the centre of the device is a precision-manufactured platter bearing, combined with a custom-made platter and sub-platter – with the same attention to detail that characterises all Clearaudio products, according to the traditional German company, which thus points to the high quality that is also guaranteed with the new Clearaudio Compass in the entry-level segment. High-precision components, selected materials and a manufacturing quality designed for durability guarantee long-lasting musical enjoyment.
All acoustically relevant components are manufactured by hand at the factory in Erlangen – tonearm, cartridge, bearings and sub-platter, as the manufacturer explicitly emphasises. The turntables are assembled with a supplied MDF chassis at a partner company in the Czech Republic.
The sleek model is available in elegant black or silver and comes with a removable acrylic cover.
“Clearaudio has always stood for uncompromising quality, highest precision and exceptional design. With the Compass, we are now bringing our high-end technology to a wider audience – as a ready-to-play turntable that sets new standards in this price range.”
Robert Suchy, Managing Director Clearaudio electronic GmbH
