Bluesound Professional BCS250 and Bluesound Professional BCS300 – New in-ceiling speakers

Bluesound Professional introduces the Bluesound Professional BCS250 Passive Ceiling Speaker and Bluesound Professional BCS300 Network Streaming Ceiling Speaker systems, new ceiling-recessed or pendant-mounted speaker systems for the BluOS ecosystem, expanding the range of premium audio products for commercial use.

Story Highlights
  • Two new in-ceiling speaker systems are now available from Bluesound Professional with the Bluesound Professional BCS250 Passive Ceiling Speaker and Bluesound Professional BCS300 Network Streaming Ceiling Speaker solutions.

Bluesound Professional, the division of Lenbrook International responsible for custom installation solutions based on BluOS, initially used InfoComm 2023 in Orlando to present two new products, namely the Bluesound Professional BCS250 and Bluesound Professional BCS300 systems. These were presented again at ISE 2024, as they are now actually available to designated custom installation specialists.

These are recessed ceiling speakers, which are intended to serve as an extension of the corresponding Bluesound Professional range, whereby in one case they are passive speaker systems and in the second case active PoE ceiling speakers.

Bluesound Professional BCS250 Passive Ceiling Speaker and Bluesound Professional BCS300 Network Streaming Ceiling Speaker

The Bluesound Professional BCS250 Passive Ceiling Speaker and Bluesound Professional BCS300 Network Streaming Ceiling Speaker are, as the full name suggests, both passive and active PoE ceiling speakers that can be installed as recessed ceiling speakers or, with an optional conversion kit, as pendant speakers.

The Bluesound Professional BCS250 Passive Ceiling Speaker is a passive ceiling speaker designed for both low impedance and constant voltage applications, while the Bluesound Professional BCS300 Network Streaming Ceiling Speaker extends Bluesound Professional’s PoE speaker line as a network streaming ceiling speaker with integrated streaming and amplification.

Both ceiling speakers can easily be converted into a hanging speaker using the optional Pendant Kit – a highly versatile addition that offers installers unrivalled flexibility, according to Bluesound Professional’s promise.

Bluesound Professional BCS250 Passive Ceiling Speaker

The Bluesound Professional BCS250 is described as a high quality passive ceiling speaker for commercial use, with a solution specifically designed for low impedance and constant voltage scenarios.

With its discreet, flush-mount design, the Bluesound Professional BCS250 is said to be ideal for environments where wall space is limited, such as small cafes and shops, as well as for a variety of retrofit and new build applications.

The low impedance option delivers better overall audio quality, while the constant voltage option is ideal for daisy-chained speaker configurations.

The Bluesound Professional BCS250 is designed to work with the Bluesound Professional B170S Networked Streaming Stereo Amplifier and offers both low impedance and constant voltage settings (70/100V).

Bluesound Professional BCS300 Network Streaming Ceiling Speaker

The Bluesound Professional BCS300 is an all-in-one solution for flexible streaming in the form of a ceiling or pendant speaker solution. The basis here is therefore an integrated music streamer based on BluOS and an amplifier.

Based on the BluOS multi-room streaming platform, the Bluesound Professional BCS300 enables the control of multiple zones, the grouping of speakers and integrated, networked music streaming from Bluesound Professional’s business music partners such as SoundMachine, Qsic, Custom Channels and SiriusXM Music for Business.

By utilising Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, audio signals are efficiently transmitted to the desired destination in a discrete and simplified manner. In contrast to conventional installations, this decentralised solution eliminates the need for an audio rack and functions as an independent unit, as Bluesound Professional explicitly emphasises.

In addition, the device’s flush-mounted design allows it to blend seamlessly into any interior design and décor.

Optional pendant kit

As already mentioned, Bluesound Professional offers an optional pendant kit for both new speakers, which can be used to transform the in-ceiling speakers into pendant speakers.

The manufacturer refers to this as a solution that presents itself with an elegant, lamp-shaped housing and can therefore be attractively staged. This allows the sound source to be brought closer to the listener, especially with very high ceilings.

The Pendant Kit will be available in the colours matt black and matt white and will each include a hook, a cap and a pendant housing. The black Pendant Kit will also include a black grille.
