- The latest models from the Shanling brand, the Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones, should prove to be powerful in-ear headphones equipped with two drivers per channel.
The latest in-ear headphones from Chinese specialist Shanling Audio, which are now being presented in the form of the Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones, are said to boast a number of outstanding features. The housing, the cable, but above all the design with two dynamic drivers is emphasised by the manufacturer as a special feature.
The new Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones are intended to be a solution for discerning music lovers, but also a product that is offered at a particularly attractive price.
Design with two dynamic drivers
The new Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones are equipped with two drivers, both of which are dynamic drivers, albeit with different designs.
The first of the two drivers is designed as a 10 mm dynamic driver and is responsible for the bass range. Here, a so-called Liquid Crystal High-molecular Diaphragm with a particularly flexible polyurethane surround is used, so that on the one hand a very accurate, but also very powerful, dynamic performance in the lowest frequency range is guaranteed.
An 8 mm dynamic driver with a diamond-like carbon diaphragm serves as the mid/high driver, for which the manufacturer promises a particularly clear, natural performance right up to the highest frequency ranges.
Incidentally, both drivers are equipped with a particularly powerful drive unit based on a Japanese-made voice coil and a dual-magnetic system with highly efficient N52 magnets.
The crossover used here has been tuned to reduce distortion to an absolute minimum in order to guarantee a natural, clear performance.
Key technical data
From a purely technical point of view, these are in-ear headphones that can reproduce a frequency range between 18 Hz and 40 kHz with an impedance of 16 ohms and a sensitivity of 113 dB.
Housing manufactured using 3D printing
Of course, the optimal construction of the housing is also crucial for the sophisticated sound, and the new Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones rely on a solution manufactured using 3D printing.
The cover of the housing is a special feature, as a special metal foil is used here, which is manufactured in a special process and thus has a particularly elegant-looking surface in amber-coloured tones combined with a metallic sheen. This is a very old, traditional Chinese process, and each pair of headphones is therefore unique.
In practical terms, these are very lightweight headphones, as the Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones weigh no more than 4,6 g per earbud, which, combined with no less than nine pairs of different ear tips, makes them particularly comfortable to wear.
Interchangeable cable connections – 3,5 mm jack, 4,4 mm pentagon or USB-C
The Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones are supplied with a particularly high-quality cable with a 182-conductor coaxial dual-conductor structure and silver-plated, oxygen-free copper strands. The cable has a 0.78 2-pin connector on one end and a 3,5 mm stereo mini jack on the other. However, this jack plug is detachable and can be replaced by an optional 4,4 mm Pentaconn if required. As an optional accessory, Shanling also offers a suitable adapter with an integrated D/A converter, which is designed as a USB-C connector in miniature format and converts signals at 32 bit and 384 kHz.
Prices and availability
The new Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones will soon be available from specialist retailers, according to the manufacturer. The recommended retail price will be € 79,-.
Getting to the point
It is above all the design with two dynamic drivers that Shanling Audio emphasises as a key feature of the new Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones, but also its elegant design, which is realised in 3D printing and finished with a special metal foil. Equipped in this way, the Shanling TINO HiFi Earphones are recommended as a solution with a particularly good price-performance ratio.
