Sennheiser Smart Control App with Auracast Assistant
The Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 and Sennheiser ACCENTUM True Wireless headphones are equipped for Auracast, and the new Sennheiser Smart Control app now makes this function easily accessible with a new Auracast assistant.

With Auracast Broadcast Audio, some current Bluetooth headphones feature a technology that promises nothing less than limitless freedom. Auracast Broadcast Audio is intended to offer a way of transmitting audio to as many devices as possible in the simplest possible way, at least according to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, or Bluetooth SIG for short, an industry consortium responsible for the Bluetooth standard and its development.
Solutions that are already equipped for Auracast include selected solutions from the Sennheiser brand, namely the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 and Sennheiser ACCENTUM True Wireless headphone models from Sonova Consumer Hearing GmbH.
For a powerful wireless future
The new version of the Sennheiser Smart Control app paves the way for a powerful wireless future, says Sonova Consumer Hearing GmbH, promoting the latest version of its app for Apple iOS and Google Android.
The centrepiece of this new version is the so-called Auracast Assistant. This is intended to provide a way of directly and smoothly accessing the Auracast Broadcast Audio technology and thus one-to-many transmission.
The possibilities range from simply listening to music together with friends to audio guides in museums, information at airports, etc., which are offered via Auracast Broadcast Audio.
It is interesting to note that the new Sennheiser Smart Control app can be used to manage Auracast connections from devices that do not natively support it, so that users of a Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 can also use streams via Auracast on their Apple iPhone, for example.

Headphone localisation option
In addition to Auracast, the new Sennheiser Smart Control app also offers other new features, such as the ability to locate headphones such as the Sennheiser ACCENTUM True Wireless, Sennheiser MOMENTUM Sport and Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 or to display where they were last located. This service is provided via the smartphone’s location services, so it can only show the position at which the headphones were last connected to the smartphone.
If a pair of headphones is connected to the smartphone, an acoustic signal can be activated to locate the headphones in the immediate vicinity.

Prices and availability
The new Smart Control app for Apple iOS and Google Android is already available in the Apple Store and Google PLAY Store, free of charge for all existing users. This is version 4.9.0 and higher, which features the new Auracast assistant.
Auracast is already available for the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4; a firmware update is required for the Sennheiser ACCENTUM True Wireless, which will be released shortly.
The “Search headphones” function is available for the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4, Sennheiser ACCENTUM True Wireless and Sennheiser MOMENTUM Sport via a firmware update via Smart Control version 4.9.0 and higher.
Getting to the point
According to the Bluetooth SIG, what was initially developed as audio sharing is now part of the Bluetooth LE specification as Auracast Broadcast Audio and will soon be found in a wide range of consumer electronics solutions. One of the first providers of this technology is Sonova Consumer Hearing GmbH and thus the Sennheiser brand, whose Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 and Sennheiser ACCENTUM True Wireless headphones are already equipped for Auracast.
