Roberts Revival Rest – Retro-inspired radio alarm clock
The new Roberts Revival Rest is a particularly small, yet extremely elegant and flexible radio, which is probably best placed on the bedside cabinet as a classic radio alarm clock.
- Roberts Radio Ltd. presents the new Roberts Revival Rest, the latest addition to the Roberts Revival Series.
A retro touch meets state-of-the-art features and functionality – this is how Roberts Radio Ltd. advertises the latest addition to the legendary Roberts Revival Series, the Roberts Revival Rest. As the name suggests, this neat, almost tiny radio is best placed on a bedside cabinet, as it is essentially a classic radio alarm clock.
The new Roberts Revival Rest offers everything to wake the user up in style in the morning, but also to gently lull them to sleep with music in the evening.
Retro-inspired…
The solutions from Roberts Radio Ltd. are known to almost all have a certain vintage touch, with designs reminiscent of solutions from the 1950s, 1960s or even the 1970s.
In the case of the new Roberts Revival Rest, the manufacturer also speaks of a design that is retro-inspired, as it is literally put, although, as we have already mentioned, it is a particularly compact and unusual solution.
The new Roberts Revival Rest with its wooden and leather-covered case measures no more than 15,4 cm in width, 10 cm in height and only 7,5 cm in depth. It is therefore fair to say that it is a very small solution, which also weighs no more than 620 g. The Roberts Revival Rest is available in either Duck Egg or Black at launch.
The front is adorned with an LC display. This initially provides a clearly legible time display and, depending on the operating mode, all other relevant information. The light intensity of the display can be adjusted in three stages or dimmed automatically depending on the lighting conditions. All operating elements are located on the top, where there are not only two rotary encoders but also six buttons.
DAB or FM and Bluetooth
One source of music is the radio, which supports DAB or DAB+ in addition to FM, and offers an automatic station search and ten station presets. The manufacturer does not reveal which Bluetooth standard is involved, but adds that smartphones can also be charged directly via USB. Two alarm times are available here, as well as a sleep timer.
Rich sound despite compact dimensions
The fact that the Roberts Revival Rest is solidly made of wood is of course conducive to a rich sound, and a woofer radiating to the rear and a tweeter radiating upwards are also used here, which, according to the manufacturer, should result in a warm, pleasantly natural sound.
It should also be mentioned that this solution has a 3,5 mm stereo mini-jack so that headphones can be plugged in without any problems.
Prices and availability
The new Roberts Revival Rest should be available shortly, as the manufacturer promises, at least for the UK market. The recommended retail price here is GBP 129,-.
Getting to the point
The new Roberts Revival Rest, the latest addition to the Roberts Revival Series, should prove to be the perfect compact solution for the bedside cabinet. According to Roberts Radio Ltd, this elegant, very compact radio alarm clock not only offers FM, DAB and DAB+, but also Bluetooth, allowing you to wake up in the morning and gently go to sleep in the evening in a variety of ways.
