Vinyl newcomers need nothing more than the new Rega System One, according to the conviction of the English specialist Rega Research Limited, as this offers everything needed to create a compact, fine hi-fi system around a record player. The record player is the Rega Planar 1, to which the English have added the new Rega io Integrated Stereo Amplifier and the compact Rega Kyte loudspeaker systems.
The English hi-fi manufacturer Rega Research Limited is not only known as a proven specialist for record players, the company can also boast of being a full-range supplier, which, in addition to record players including pickups and tonearms from its own production, naturally also has the corresponding electronics in the form of phono preamplifiers, CD players, D/A converters, amplifiers and loudspeaker systems in its range.
It is therefore only natural that Rega Research Limited should put together complete packages, especially with a view to new target groups, which represent a complete hi-fi chain from a single source and thus a perfectly balanced solution with the special sound characteristics of the English.
This is precisely what Rega Research Limited is now offering in the form of the new Rega System One, which has just been presented for the first time and will be available shortly. The Rega System One really does include everything needed to create a small, yet very fine hi-fi chain, with the main focus on the reproduction of music from vinyl records.
The only component of this new complete system known to date is the record player, as this is the Rega Planar 1, which is the entry level model for Rega Research Limited, but is already a flawless drive. It is fitted with a Rega Carbon MM cartridge system.
At its side will be the new Rega io Integrated Stereo Amplifier, which has a very compact form and a discreet black finish. Two analogue inputs are available here, as well as an integrated phono pre-amplifier for drives fitted with MM pick-up systems, which is essential in this specific case. The Rega io Integrated Stereo Amplifier has two 30-watt outputs, which is quite sufficient to provide attractive sound in smaller rooms.
This is also in keeping with the fact that Rega Research Limited has chosen compact bookshelf speaker systems as its play partners for the new Rega System One, although this is also a completely new product, namely the new Rega Kyte Speakers.
The new Rega Kyte Speakers are designed as two-way systems, with a completely new, almost futuristic design for Rega Research Limited.
It should be emphasised in particular that Rega System One is actually intended to be an all-in-one solution, ready to play immediately without any further investment. Rega Research Limited would like to emphasise that all the cables required for the connection are included in the scope of delivery. A matching remote control for the new Rega io Integrated Stereo Amplifier is also included in the scope of supply.
According to information currently available, the new Rega System One should be available from specialist retailers as early as spring 2020. For England, the company has already communicated a recommended retail price, with the Rega System One being priced at GBP 999, which is below the magical limit of GBP 1,000.
