FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier – High quality USB current filter

USB has long since established itself as the standard in the field of high-quality audio solutions. Such D/A converters can be used in many ways. In order to guarantee signal processing free from sound-damaging external influences when power is supplied via USB, FiiO Electronics Technology Co Inc. now introduces the new FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier.

FiiO Electronics Technology Co Ltd. is known as a proven specialist for personal audio devices. Here, D/A converters play a very important role, especially D/A converters designed for mobile use, which are usually combined with a headphone amplifier. But also the company’s portable Hi-res audio players all have the possibility to be used as D/A converters. USB in particular is the essential interface here, which has long since established itself as the standard not only for signal transmission at the digital level, but especially for portable power supply solutions. However, many demanding users are afraid that this could have a detrimental effect on the sound, which could also spoil the pleasure of travelling.

The market already has many solutions to address this problem, and now FiiO Electronics Technology Co Ltd. has one such product, the new FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier.

As the name suggests, the new FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier is a solution that is designed to provide USB power to portable audio solutions free from interference, so that it can be called a USB Power Isolator. This is achieved by means of galvanic isolation and integrated power supply circuits, so that any interference from the power supply of the USB port is not passed on to, for example, a connected portable audio player or a portable headphone amplifier. The new FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier is even designed to provide power reconstruction functionality to ensure that no noise is transmitted from the USB port.

It should be emphasized that the new FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier is designed to provide power only, i.e. it does not transmit any audio signals. This allows it to be used in cars, airplanes, or anywhere where USB power is available for portable solutions, but it is certainly not the cleanest.

Of course, it is essential that it is a particularly compact solution, after all it is primarily used in combination with portable, small and light solutions. For example, the new FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier features a very compact aluminium-magnesium alloy case that is not much larger than a conventional USB connector. This is where the “end device” is connected, such as a USB DAC or portable hi-res audio player. The cable with the USB plug for connection to a USB port does not measure more than 6 cm and should be particularly robust and thus durable.

The manufacturer states that the new FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier reliably delivers 5V to its USB port, with a maximum of 3W. FiiO Electronics Technology Co Ltd. recommends using the new FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier with the FiiO M Series and FiiO X Series players, as well as with the FiiO BTR Series Bluetooth Amps and FiiO Q Series DAC/ Amps.

The new FiiO LA-UA1 USB Power Purifier is expected to be available at retailers within the next few days. The recommended retail price is € 19.90.
