JBL Boombox 3 – Portable Three-Way speaker system
The latest generation of the JBL Boombox, which Harman International Industries is now presenting in the form of the new JBL Boombox 3 at CES 2022 in Las Vegas, is said to offer pure, powerful JBL Original Pro Sound.
The JBL Boombox Series has been one of the most important products in the line-up of portable Bluetooth speaker systems from Harman International Industries for years, and this is also to apply to the new JBL Boombox 3, which the company presented at CES 2022 in Las Vegas at the beginning of the year.
Once again, the new JBL Boombox 3 is said to be characterised by particularly rich sound, whereby the manufacturer speaks of an even more powerful performance than the previous generation.
JBL Boombox 3 with JBL Original Pro Sound
Harman International Industries describes the new JBL Boombox 3 as a solution with JBL Original Pro Sound and thus establishes the connection to its solutions in the pro audio sector, even if in the final analysis it is still a portable Bluetooth speaker.
What they want to emphasise, however, is that this is a solution with particularly powerful sound, so once again they want to fully live up to the name.
For this purpose, a three-way system is used, which is equipped with a powerful Racetrack subwoofer, two midrange speakers and two tweeters. Compared to the predecessors, this is supposed to achieve an even deeper, richer bass and a pronounced presence, as the manufacturer promises.
The JBL Boombox 3 is thus primarily designed for those who are looking for a solution for powerful reproduction in any situation and everywhere.
Robust design
To ensure this, the new JBL Boombox 3 has a particularly robust design. The JBL Boombox 3 is IP67 certified and therefore resistant to water and dust, so in principle it can be used in any environment and in all weather conditions.
A robust metal bracket also ensures that you can easily take the JBL Boombox 3 with you wherever you go.
Signal transmission via Bluetooth 5.3
The new JBL Boombox 3 already uses the new Bluetooth 5.3 standard, which is said to have advantages in that the connection to the source devices is more stable and this standard has once again been optimised in terms of energy consumption, theoretically leading to longer battery life.
From a practical point of view, it is exciting that with the new JBL Boombox 3, two source devices can be connected at the same time in order to alternate music playback between two smartphones and thus realise a versatile playlist.
Of course, the JBL PartyBoost function can also be used to connect two JBL Boombox 3 to form a stereo pair, and even more, several compatible devices can be paired to achieve a particularly rich sound.
Long battery life and integrated powerbank function
The manufacturer promises that the new JBL Boombox 3 will provide music enjoyment for the whole day, because the integrated lithium-ion battery ensures a playing time of up to 24 hours. And that’s not all: the new JBL Boombox 3 can even be used as a so-called power bank for charging smartphones, for example.
Prices and availability
According to the manufacturer, the new JBL Boombox 3 will be available in specialist shops from summer 2022. Customers can choose between the black and squad versions. Both variants are to be offered at a price of € 549, and in a new, particularly environmentally friendly packaging, as the manufacturer states on record.
Getting to the point
The so-called JBL Boombox Series has always been a particularly important product line for Harman International Industries at the JBL brand, because it is supposed to provide particularly powerful, robust Bluetooth speakers. This is also the case with the new JBL Boombox 3 and thus the latest generation, whereby the particularly long battery life is particularly noticeable, which according to the manufacturer is sufficient for music enjoyment throughout the day.
