beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO – On-ear monitoring headphones with 22 dBA passive attenuation

The new beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO is designed for monitoring wherever high ambient noise makes reliable audio assessment difficult. Its closed on-ear construction provides 22 dBA of passive attenuation, while the 195 g design and rotating ear cups suit mobile production work. A detachable locking cable can be connected to either ear cup.

Story Highlights
  • With 22 dBA passive attenuation and no active noise cancelling, the beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO targets professionals who need to judge speech, levels and unwanted noise in demanding surroundings.

High ambient noise can make speech, unwanted sounds, cue points and level relationships considerably harder to judge. The beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO addresses precisely this problem. With the new model, beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG extends its beyerdynamic PRO Series with a compact, closed on-ear monitoring headphone for camera crews, FOH engineers, DJs and content creators. Passive attenuation of 22 dBA, a weight of 195 g without the cable and rotating ear cups are intended to make it particularly suitable for mobile work. The beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO is available now for € 119,-.

When ambient noise gets in the way

The beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO is not intended as a universal studio headphone for use in a quiet control room. Its purpose becomes clear when surrounding noise masks speech, interference, cue points or level differences. The closed construction and synthetic leather ear pads are specified to attenuate external noise passively by 22 dBA.

beyerdynamic deliberately avoids active noise cancelling. There is therefore no additional electronics, battery or digital signal processing involved. The manufacturer describes the tuning as balanced, with clear reproduction of speech and audio signals, controlled bass and low distortion even at high levels.

Its dynamic transducer covers a frequency range from 5 Hz to 24 kHz. Nominal impedance is 45 ohms, while the specified nominal sound pressure level is 105 dB SPL at 1 mW and 500 Hz. The DT 275 PRO can therefore be used not only with powerful studio and DJ outputs, but also with mobile production equipment.

Compact on-ear design for mobile production

At 195 g without its cable, the beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO is notably light. Its ear cups rotate so that the headphones can lie flat inside a production or equipment bag. Unlike a folding DJ headphone, this arrangement does not require an additional hinge.

Soft, sweat-resistant synthetic leather ear pads and flexible headband padding are designed to provide a secure fit during longer assignments. The on-ear construction is deliberately more compact than that of conventional over-ear studio headphones. This reduces the space required for transport while supporting the intended level of passive acoustic isolation.

Locking cable with a choice of connection side

The cable arrangement is one of the DT 275 PRO’s most practical features. Its detachable 1.5 m specialist cable can be connected to either the left or right ear cup, allowing the user to choose the more suitable side for each workplace. A bayonet lock prevents the plug from being pulled out unintentionally during movement.

The decoupled cable routing is also intended to reduce structure-borne noise and handling sounds. The cable combines coiled and straight sections and terminates in a gold-plated 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack. A 6.3 mm jack adapter is included.

Replaceable parts for frequent professional use

Professional headphones must withstand repeated use and, in many cases, changing users. The ear pads, headband padding and connecting cable of the beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO can therefore all be replaced separately.

This simplifies cleaning in shared production environments and means that a worn pad or damaged cable does not require the complete headphone to be replaced. The connecting cable is also compatible with the beyerdynamic DJ 300 PRO X.

DT 275 PRO and DT 270 PRO serve different purposes

Despite their similar names, the beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO and the already available beyerdynamic DT 270 PRO are intended for different working conditions. The DT 270 PRO is a compact over-ear headphone for recording, music production and podcast applications in predominantly controlled indoor environments.

The DT 275 PRO instead combines a closed on-ear design with greater passive acoustic isolation. It is aimed at mobile and time-critical applications such as video shoots, field recording, live sound, side-stage monitoring and DJ cueing. Fast handling, a small packed size and effective attenuation of ambient noise take priority here.

The most important advantages at a glance

  • High passive acoustic isolation: Attenuation of 22 dBA makes monitoring easier in noisy working environments.
  • Designed for mobile work: A weight of 195 g and rotating ear cups reduce both bulk and transport effort.
  • Flexible cable routing: The cable can be connected to either the left or right ear cup.
  • Secure connection: A bayonet lock prevents the cable from becoming detached unintentionally.
  • No battery or electronics: Noise attenuation is entirely passive and requires neither power nor digital signal processing.
  • Service-friendly construction: The ear pads, headband padding and connecting cable are separately replaceable.
  • Suitable for different sources: The 45-ohm impedance permits operation with professional and mobile audio equipment.

Price & Availability

The beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO has been available since 28 July 2026 at a recommended retail price of € 119,-. It is sold through the manufacturer’s online shop and authorised specialist retailers. Replacement ear pads, headband padding and connecting cables can be ordered separately.

Getting to the point

The beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO has a clearly defined job: dependable monitoring when the surroundings are anything but quiet. Its 22 dBA passive attenuation, low weight and choice of cable connection side are well matched to video shoots, live productions and DJ work. It is particularly welcome that beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG retains replaceable wear parts and a locking cable connection despite the comparatively modest price.
