WiiM Sub Pro – Wireless subwoofer as a new addition to the WiiM eco system
The WiiM Sub Pro is the first WiiM-branded subwoofer, and it is designed to be a highly accurate, powerful performing subwoofer for any WiiM streamer, amplifier or speaker, according to Linkplay Technology Inc.
- The new WiiM Sub Pro, which celebrated its premiere at High-end 2025 in Munich, is designed to be the perfect extension for any WiiM streamer, amplifier or speaker.
WiiM, the brand of Linkplay Technology Inc., may be a very, very young company, but it has long been recognised as an established player, not least due to the impressive determination with which it presents one exciting product after another. In particular, the former industry leader Sonos Inc. is likely to be the clear focus of the strategists at Linkplay Technology Inc. At least that’s what the product launches that Linkplay Technology Inc. is presenting around High-end 2025 suggest.
Not only is the WiiM Sound Smart Speaker the first particularly flexible wireless speaker to be added to the previously available streaming client and streaming amp systems, but the new WiiM Sub Pro is also a matching subwoofer. What’s more, the new WiiM Sub Pro is designed to be used in conjunction with any streamer, amplifier or speaker from WiiM.
Compact in size, powerful in performance
Probably the most important feature of the new WiiM Sub Pro is that it is a comparatively compact solution: the subwoofer measures no more than 399 x 301 x 322 mm, weighs 16 kg with a nonetheless solid housing and is designed to integrate seamlessly into any living environment with its discreet design.
The WiiM Sub Pro’s 8-inch driver is designed to deliver 250 watts of Class D power to deliver a rich, powerful bass in the range between 25 and 200 Hz, as the manufacturer promises.
Integration into the network
This is made easier first and foremost by the fact that it is a subwoofer that is controlled ‘wirelessly’, not via radio, but actually first and foremost via streaming as part of a corresponding streaming network.
The WiiM Sub Pro is equipped with an integrated WiFi module for this purpose, but it also has an RJ45 Ethernet interface. Alternatively, analogue audio signals can also be fed in via an RCA connection and, for the sake of completeness, the WiiM Sub Pro also has Bluetooth 5.3 with support for Bluetooth LE audio.
WiiM Home app as the central interface
The WiiM Home app for Apple iOS and Google Android is of course the linchpin for optimal use of the WiiM Sub Pro, as it allows you to configure the subwoofer for optimum interaction with other solutions.
As already mentioned, the new WiiM Sub Pro can be easily combined with WiiM streamers, amplifiers and speakers in a wide variety of configurations, whereby the WiiM Home app is used to make the appropriate configuration.
Auto Room Correction
In the simplest case, this is done automatically, as an AI-driven room calibration is available, for which the manufacturer promises very accurate results based on the individual conditions in the room.
Users can also use the WiiM Home app to customise filter settings, level, phase and any latency according to their own preferences and also bring a 10-band parametric EQ into play.
Prices and availability
The new WiiM Sub Pro is not expected until the third quarter of 2025, as announced by Linkplay Technology Inc. at High-end 2025 in Munich. Accordingly, the company has so far also kept the price under wraps.
Getting to the point
It is a subwoofer that is designed as a powerful extension in the lowest frequency spectrum for any streamer, any amplifier and any speaker in WiiM’s broad product portfolio, says Linkplay Technology Inc. about the new WiiM Sub Pro, which was presented for the first time as a flexible solution for a powerful yet precise performance at High End 2025 in Munich.
