JBL Tour PRO 3 TWS Earbuds - Now with dual driver and JBL Smart Charging Case latest generation

The latest generation of JBL Tour PRO 3 true wireless in-ear headphones are designed to offer nothing less than unlimited entertainment, according to Harman International Industries, which is talking about the most advanced in-ear headphones from the JBL brand.

Story Highlights
  • According to Harman International Industries, the new JBL Tour PRO 3 in-ear headphones are the most advanced true wireless in-ear headphones available.

With the latest in-ear headphones from the JBL brand, every effort has been made to develop solutions for ultimate comfort and premium sound quality, according to the promise of Harman International Industries via the JBL Tour PRO 3. There are a a number of outstanding features that are supposed to guarantee this, such as the introduction of Dual Driver, JBL Spatial 360 with head tracking, True Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2.0 and a so-called smart charging case with Auracast functionality.

The Harman International team is convinced that all of these features in the latest generation of JBL Tour Series ensure that they offer nothing less than unlimited entertainment.

JBL Pro Sound with two drivers for the first time – dynamic driver plus balanced armature driver

With the new JBL Tour PRO 3, the company is introducing a so-called dual driver concept for the first time. This means that it no longer relies on a single driver that works over as wide a range as possible, but rather on two, in the form of a hybrid system.

A dynamic driver with a diameter of 11 mm is still responsible for the low frequencies, as well as for the middle ranges, whereby the manufacturer promises a powerful, clean bass and lively vocals on the one hand, but a so-called balanced armature driver is now added to take over the accurate, detailed reproduction of the uppermost frequency range.

What is interesting here is that there is a dedicated DAC for each driver, so that the separation of the operating points is particularly accurate and, overall, an optimal performance is achieved over a frequency range between 20 Hz and 40 kHz.

Bluetooth signal transmission, which now also supports the LDAC codec and thus Hi-res Audio with up to 24 bits and 96 kHz, also contributes significantly to optimal quality.

True Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2.0 technology and JBL Crystal AI algorithm

To achieve the best sound quality in any environment and to guarantee uninterrupted music enjoyment, the new JBL Tour PRO 3 features active noise cancellation based on True Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2.0 technology.

The ambient noise is measured over 50.000 times per second and the playback is adjusted accordingly, compensating for any loss of sound.

This is primarily based on six microphones, which on the one hand analyse the environment, but can of course also be used for phone calls, video calls and voice control. To ensure optimal voice quality under all circumstances, the new JBL Tour PRO 3 are equipped with JBL Crystal AI algorithm. This not only effectively suppresses low-frequency noise, such as that encountered in public transport, from buses, subways, trains, cars and planes, but also high-frequency noise, such as that encountered in offices, cafes and other busy places. An intelligent equaliser specifically for conversations is also designed to improve the experience by automatically making loud conversation partners quieter and quiet conversation partners louder.

JBL Personi-fi 3.0

The new JBL Tour PRO 3 is now the third generation of the algorithm that allows a personal profile to be created for the user within a few moments and, based on this, the playback to be individually adapted.

JBL Personi-fi 3.0 now measures and adjusts the individual hearing curve with twelve bands for EQ compensation for each ear individually to ensure the best results.

Immersive JBL Spatial 360 with head tracking

If you want to give your sound experience more “space”, you can now rely on immersive JBL Spatial 360 with head tracking. This is supposed to transform stereo sound into a gripping immersive sound experience, which is particularly effective in films and games, according to the manufacturer’s promise.

JBL Smart Charging Case of the second generation

Harman International Industries was the first company to equip in-ear headphones with a so-called smart charging case, a transport case that has a display that allows the user to access a range of functions and make settings directly.

This second-generation case not only provides comprehensive control of the headphones’ functions, but also serves as a wireless audio transmitter, offering “everywhere entertainment” from any USB or analogue source, such as an in-flight entertainment system.

Simply connect the charging case and an automatic connection to the headphones is established immediately. The direct connection between the case and the headphones is more stable and with lower latencies than Bluetooth, making it the perfect companion for gaming, calls, films and music, as the manufacturer explains.

Full Auracast functionality

The JBL Tour PRO 3 is the first in-ear headphone model from JBL to offer full Auracast functionality. Audio content can be easily shared with any AuracastT-enabled device using the Auracast button on the display of the Smart Charging Case. It is also easy to join an existing transmission using the case and the associated app.

It should also be noted that the newly designed Smart Charging Case has a 30 per cent larger screen than its predecessor, yet is more compact and easier to handle. The screen enables seamless control of music playback, call management and numerous other functions, so that the JBL Headphones App for Apple iOS and Google Android is rarely needed in everyday life.

“The JBL Tour PRO 3 introduces a brand new audio platform designed for sonic excellence that sets new standards in terms of customisation, performance and comfort. I am particularly excited about the new next-generation smart charging case, as the new audio transmitter technology opens up unique possibilities for improving audio quality and optimising the listening experience.”

Getting to the point

Once again, Harman International wants to set new standards in the field of true wireless in-ear headphones with the latest in-ear headphones from the JBL brand, and it does so with the latest addition to the JBL Tour Series, the JBL Tour PRO 3. Not only is this the first time that the company has used a dual driver concept dynamic driver in combination with a balanced armature driver, the latest True Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2.0 technology and JBL Personi-fi 3.0, it is also the latest generation of the so-called JBL Smart Charging Case that is supposed to characterise the JBL Tour PRO 3.
