Both products are very similar, at least in form and function, but not in terms of the materials used and thus the weight.

The STABLE 33.33 Transit Platter SP-7000 is made of plastic, namely Delrin. This is so-called polyoxymethylene, also known simply as POM. This material will probably be familiar to many vinyl lovers, as it is often used in the manufacture of record players due to its special properties. In this case, however, it is not essential, but rather that the material has a comparatively high density, which means that the STABLE 33.33 Transit Platter SP-7000 weighs 190 g for a stable hold.

The standing surface of this solution has a 5 mm felt layer, so that even sensitive surfaces are protected.

For the eye, a wood finish is applied to the top, whereby this is offered in different versions.

The STABLE 33.33 Transit Platter SP-8000 is much more solid, because it is made of stainless steel, which makes the 5 mm thick felt layer on the underside all the more important. Here, too, the top has a real wood surface, whereby you can also choose between different versions.

By the way, the STABLE 33.33 Transit Platter SP-8000 weighs in at 994 g, so it is a truly robust solution.

Getting to the point

Admittedly, the first question that came to our mind when we saw the STABLE 33.33 Transit Platter SP-7000 and STABLE 33.33 Transit Platter SP-8000 was why this is needed. On closer inspection, however, it quickly becomes clear that we are dealing with a thoroughly interesting accessory for vinyl lovers. Even if it is certainly not an essential tool, these trays, handcrafted by STABLE 33.33, can be extremely practical.
