Roon 1.8 Build 933 – Optimierungen für TIDAL und Qobuz

Roon 1.8 Build 933 is now available for download. Within a few weeks, the software company Roon Labs LLC. has delivered another update for its media management and multi-room audio streaming platform. Once again, this version is not an update with new functions, but rather another service release.

Roon 1.8 Build 933 – TIDAL and Qobuz in focus

TIDAL and Qobuz are the only music streaming services that Roon Labs LLC. has implemented directly in the Roon software. Compared to other streaming solutions, this is of course very, very little, but one has to admit that this covers the most important offers for the target group – seen globally.

The present Roon 1.8 Build 933 is supposed to be dedicated to these two services, or rather their optimal integration into Roon.

Roon Labs LLC. states that the new version contains some improvements and extensions of the code that manages the communication with Qobuz and TIDAL. As already described, no new functions have been added, but performance and stability have been significantly improved by cleaning up old code.

Renewed optimisation of the search function

Already the last updates of the software were dedicated specifically to the improvement of the search function, and this also applies to the new Roon 1.8 Build 933. The team of Roon Labs LLC. continues to work on improving the search functionality, with a special focus on the quality of the immediate search results and the performance of the server-side search infrastructure, according to the software forge in the release notes of the current update.

In addition to search, there are a number of other improvements and fixes to Roon’s user interface, the company concludes.

Roon 1.8 Build 933 is available immediately. The update is of course free of charge for existing customers and is automatically carried out under Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Windows 64 Bit, Apple macOS and Linux the next time the software is started. The same applies to Roon OS on the Roon NUCLEUS or Roon NUCLEUS+.

Likewise, the latest versions of the controller apps are now available for the Apple iOS and Google Android operating systems in the respective App Store. Once again, Roon Labs LLC has stated that the Roon Bridge does not require an update.
