Renault Scenic E-Tech electric with Harman Kardon Premium Sound System

Harman International Industries is once again cooperating with the French car manufacturer Renault in connection with the new Renault Scenic E-Tech electric. As in many other current vehicles from the French manufacturer, a Renault Scenic E-Tech electric is to provide the good sound.

  • A Harman Kardon Premium Sound System in the new Renault Scenic E-Tech electric will provide fine sound on the road.

The partnership between Harman International Industries, or rather its Harman Automotive division, and the French car manufacturer Renault Group goes back many years. It was back in 2021 that Harman International Industries announced this partnership, which involved Harman Kardon brand solutions to be integrated into selected vehicles of the French group in the future.

It has now been announced that Harman Kardon will be providing good sound in another Renault brand vehicle, the new Renault Scenic E-Tech electric, which will be equipped with a Harman Kardon Premium Sound System.

Expansion of the partnership between Harman International Industries and Renault Group

Harman International Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. specialising in connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, is pleased to announce the continuation of its close and successful partnership with French car manufacturer Renault and to celebrate the launch of the new Scenic E-Tech electric with a Harman Kardon Premium Sound System.

Renault Scenic E-Tech electric – ideal for families

The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric was presented for the first time at the IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich and is aimed at families and their need for freedom and electric mobility, as the French company itself puts it. This once again emphasises the great importance of the Renault Scenic product range for the Group, which even speaks of a milestone in the company’s history and describes the latest generation as a spacious vehicle packed with useful technology and maximum safety.

Without the noise of the combustion engine, the entertainment system in an electric vehicle like the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric can take centre stage, promises Harman International Industries.

The Harman Kardon Premium Sound System in the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric

The Harman Kardon Premium Sound System features nine high-performance speakers, including single voice coil woofers in the front doors for enhanced upper mid-range performance and an externally coupled subwoofer that reduces the weight and volume of the subwoofer enclosure while delivering dynamic, low-distortion bass response. In combination with an 8-channel DSP digital amplifier with a total output of 410 watts, the Harman Kardon Premium Sound System delivers a rich, detailed sound, according to the manufacturer’s promise.

Sound modes developed by Jean-Michell Jarre

At the touch of a button, the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric is said to offer five sound modes that were developed for a wide variety of tasks by none other than Jean-Michell Jarre.

For example, “Studio” promises precise, clear and detailed reproduction, while “Concert” offers a wide stereo stage that builds up in front of the listener and surrounds them like in a concert hall. The “Podcast” mode is intended to achieve the best possible speech reproduction and “Immersion” creates the feeling of being surrounded by instruments and immersed in the music, which should open up a new dimension of sound for the listener. Last but not least, the “Club” mode provides a pronounced and intense bass reproduction with a loud, broad and high-contrast sound.

Seamless integration into the vehicle interior

It goes without saying that the development teams at Harman International Industries and Renault worked closely together to integrate the Harman Kardon Premium Sound System perfectly into the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric.

For the new Renault Scenic E-Tech electric, the designers used the same solution as for the Renault Megane E-Tech electric, with the tweeter grilles reflecting the familiar 60° slash pattern of the Harman Kardon brand logo.

“By combining the captivating, pure sound of Harman Kardon with the unmistakable style and flair of Renault, curated by French artist and producer Jean-Michel Jarre, this partnership has created meaningful and special moments for Renault drivers around the world. With 70 years of experience in audio engineering and acoustic design, we go beyond simple music reproduction, because we want the Harman Kardon sound system to reveal all the nuances of a finely tuned sound. We benefited from Renault’s collaboration with Jean-Michel Jarre, with whom we jointly developed the direction for the sound tuning of the Scenic E-Tech electric.”
