Piega ACE Wireless Series now with Apple AirPlay 2

Piega SA describes the systems of the Piega ACE Wireless Series as a particularly versatile all-in-one solution. Their range of functions is now extended by another essential technology platform, namely support for Apple AirPlay 2.

The Swiss company Piega SA sees the Piega ACE Wireless Series as a kind of modern, versatile all-in-one solution. After all, this product series is about active loudspeakers that, on the one hand, can access content from a wide variety of sources thanks to their enormous flexibility and, on the other hand, can be integrated into almost any living environment thanks to their compact dimensions and elegant design. Another special feature is that these solutions can be used for both stereo and home cinema.

Piega ACE Wireless Series – The versatile All-in-One

Piega SA emphasises the compact dimensions of the solutions of the Piega ACE Wireless Series, whereby this is of course once again achieved by using aluminium as the material for the active speakers, whose timelessly elegant design was created by Stephan Hürlemann.

In addition to an analogue input in the form of a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack, the solutions have digital inputs in the form of an optical and a coaxial S/PDIF interface, but first and foremost an HDMI input, which naturally has an eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel) as well as HDMI CEC and is thus ideally suited for direct connection with a TV set.

The speakers are equipped for WiSA and thus for the only wireless technology on the market that was designed solely for the transmission of audio signals in hi-res audio and which, as here, supports not only stereo, but even multi-channel, up to 7.1-channel surround.

In order to be able to use smartphones and tablets directly as sources, Bluetooth is on board, which should also be mentioned here for the sake of completeness.

The Piega ACE Wireless Series can be integrated into the network and then functions initially as a dlna-certified UPnP streaming solution. In addition to the certification as Roon-ready, Google Chromecast and Spotify Connect are also available – so far at least, because now another essential streaming platform is added.

Apple AirPlay 2 now also available

For whatever reason it was not supported until now, the time has come: the Piega ACE Wireless Series now also supports Apple AirPlay 2 as a further streaming technology. From the Apple iPhone or Apple iPad, you can now select the speakers of the Piega ACE Wireless Series directly for playback via any app.

Prices and availability

According to Piega SA, all customers will benefit from the new Apple AirPlay 2 support, even those who already own such systems. An automatic update will ensure that all systems are always up to date without any user intervention. The update for Apple AirPlay 2 will also be installed automatically and should already be available to all users.

Getting to the point

According to Piega SA, the Piega ACE Wireless Series, consisting of the Piega ACE 50 Wireless, Piega ACE 30 Wireless and Piega ACE Center Wireless systems, is designed as a particularly flexible all-in-one system that is equally suitable for stereo and surround and thus home cinema. A key aspect of the Piega ACE Wireless Series is, of course, streaming, whereby UPnP, Google Chromecast and Spotify Connect were previously supported and the solutions were also designated as Roon-ready. Now the systems of the Piega ACE Wireless Series also support Apple AirPlay 2.
