It took three years of development to conceive the latest generation of the Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA Series, says Musical Fidelity. The development was also accompanied by enormous investments, because it was the declared goal to develop solutions with an unprecedented quality and thus to be on an absolute reference level.
Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE Pre Amplifier – The Central Interface
Of course, the new Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE Pre Amplifier plays a very special role here. After all, it is the central interface of the complete Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA Series and thus the playing partner for either the Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PAS Stereo Power Amplifier or a pair of the Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PAM Mono Power Amplifier.
Fully balanced, discrete Class A design and equipped with Nuvistor tubes
The new Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE Pre Amplifier is essentially a fully balanced, discrete Class A preamplifier that – nomen est omen – uses eight Nuvistor 6S51N tubes and – this is probably one of its most striking features – relies on a particularly powerful external power supply. This is called the Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE PSU.

Never before in the history of hi-fi have nuvistor tubes been combined with the latest fully balanced and discrete technology and sophisticated, modern design techniques, as is the case with the new Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA Series and thus also its latest preamplifier, the Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE Pre Amplifier, the English company is convinced. The new Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE Pre Amplifier has no less than twelve inputs, six of which are unbalanced RCA jack pairs, while the remaining six are balanced inputs with XLR.
The Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE Pre Amplifier has two fixed-level outputs – one unbalanced with RCA, the other balanced with XLR – as well as two variable-level outputs, one unbalanced with RCA and the other balanced with XLR.
Of course, trigger inputs and outputs are not missing, so that a central control can be realised in combination with other components, first and foremost, of course, the power amplifiers.
Elegant appearance and simple operating concept
With the new Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE Pre Amplifier, the developers at Musical Fidelity have opted for an extremely elegant design concept that tastefully conceals the ultimately massive dimensions.
The preamplifier measures 483 x 187.5 x 491 mm and weighs an impressive 22 kg. In addition, the separate power supply weighs in at an impressive 25 kg (483 x 187.5 x 475 mm).
The front of the Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE Pre Amplifier is adorned first and foremost by a centrally arranged and quite generously dimensioned colour display, which is flanked by two rotary encoders. One of these rotary encoders, the left one, is used for input selection, the right one for level control. A matching remote control made of metal is also included.

The new Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE Pre Amplifier should be available in specialist shops within the next few days, with a choice of silver or black. The manufacturer lists a recommended retail price of € 22.000,-.
