As of now, a new firmware is available for the systems of the Melco EX series, according to the company Melco Audio. This firmware brings a series of detailed improvements and is recommended to all users of Melco digital music libraries for this reason alone.
However, this new firmware is especially aimed at users who use the music streaming and download provider Qobuz, because they have a particularly exciting new feature.
The new firmware v4.20, which is now available, offers a new Qobuz Downloader, as described by the Japanese specialist for audiophile storage solutions.
The new Qobuz Downloader provides access to thousands of tracks in high-res audio and CD quality that can be downloaded directly to Melco music libraries and stored for playback.
The new firmware also offers a number of other enhancements including – improved media server stability, additional markerless DSD compatibility with a range of USB DACs and updates to Melco music libraries already running firmware version 4.10.
The new firmware will be pre-installed on all new Melco digital music libraries and is available immediately to owners of existing Melco EX Series units as well as customers who have upgraded their Melco music libraries to EX specification.
