Lyngdorf Audio und Steinway Lyngdorf – Dolby Atmos direkt über Music Streaming

For the first time, the multi-channel processors of the two brands Lyngdorf Audio and Steinway Lyngdorf will be able to reproduce surround sound in music streaming, including immersive 3D surround sound based on Dolby Atmos.

Story Highlights
  • Lyngdorf Audio and Steinway Lyngdorf multi-channel processors are now said to be able to play Dolby Atmos content via music streaming.

According to SL Audio A/S, this is a major update that can now be offered for the multi-channel processors of the brands Lyngdorf Audio and Steinway Lyngdorf and Steinway & Sons, because it addresses the integrated streaming client of these solutions and thus allows the playback of content in surround sound from corresponding streaming offers on the web.

Of course, this includes TIDAL first and foremost, because here the ambitious music lover will also find content that is even offered in immersive 3D surround sound, based on Dolby Atmos.

For the first time with multi-channel processors – Dolby Atmos via TIDAL Connect

It is a big update, says SL Audio A/S, because it is the first multi-channel processor that can play music from streaming services not only in stereo, but actually up to immersive 3D surround sound.

According to SL Audio A/S, this once again does justice to their own philosophy, according to which they see themselves as pioneers in the integration of new technologies and thus new functions even in products that already exist on the market.

With the new update, users now have direct access to thousands and thousands of music titles encoded in Dolby Atmos, using the TIDAL Connect interface, which means that playback can be controlled directly via the TIDAL app for Apple iOS and Google Android.

Numerous other innovations: Spotify Connect, Roon Ready, Apple AirPlay 2, airable Webradio

But that’s not all: the new firmware for the streaming clients of the Lyngdorf Audio and Steinway Lyngdorf multi-channel processors comes with a number of other exciting innovations.

The manufacturer states that with the streaming update, Spotify via Spotify Connect is now supported in addition to TIDAL via TIDAL Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 is added and the streaming clients are now designated as Roon-ready. Also new is the integration of airable by TuneIn Webradio as a supplement to vTuner.

In addition, the streaming functionality as a pure dlna-certified UPnP streaming client has once again been improved, especially with regard to the search function. According to the manufacturer, music playback from storage media connected directly via USB has also been optimised.

“Dolby Atmos Music is a milestone in the way of listening to music, from additional spatial sound effects for well-known music titles to completely new studio recordings. The best examples are Dolby Atmos live recordings, which make you feel as if you are in the middle of a large concert hall, or native Dolby Atmos Music productions from the field of electronic music, which provide a completely new, fascinating three-dimensional sound experience. It’s like a direct link to sound mixing in the studio. The integration of Tidal Connect with Dolby Atmos Music in our integrated streaming player makes Steinway Lyngdorf multichannel processors the first choice for film fans and music enthusiasts.”
