Based on the FiiO BTR3 Bluetooth Amplifier, FiiO Electronics Technology Co. Ltd. has now developed the latest generation, the FiiO BTR3K Balanced High-fidelity Bluetooth Amp, which features balanced signal processing and a balanced output stage to provide enhanced sound quality.

The Chinese company FiiO Electronics Technology Co. Ltd. is a proven specialist for personal audio solutions and offers a wide range of portable headphone amplifiers that rely on Bluetooth to provide a particularly flexible solution for high-quality playback, especially for smartphones and tablets. This product range is called the FiiO BTR Range and is now to be extended with the new FiiO BTR3K Balanced High-fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier.

The new FiiO BTR3K Balanced High-fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier is based on the FiiO BTR3 Bluetooth Receiver, which has been successfully offered by FiiO Electronics Technology Co. The new generation is intended to be an upgrade, taking the virtues of the previous model but optimising and expanding the features in key areas, such as new DACs with very accurate clocking and symmetrical signal processing.

The new FiiO BTR3K Balanced High-fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier is an entry-level solution from FiiO Electronics Technology Co. Ltd.

First of all, of course, the new FiiO BTR3K Balanced High-fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier is a very compact device that features a solid black aluminum housing with shatterproof glass on the top and bottom. The few controls necessary for operation are located on the side, such as buttons for coupling to the source device, volume control and of course the main switch.

Inside the FiiO BTR3K Balanced High-fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, a completely symmetrical design is used, as described above. Starting with the D/A converter, the FiiO BTR3K Balanced High-fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier uses two AKM AK4377A DACs. The signal processing is clocked by two 22.5792 MHz and 24.576 MHz Dual Crystal Oscillators. As already mentioned, the output stage is now also balanced, so that in addition to a 3.5 mm stereo mini jack connector, a 2.5 mm jack connector is also available for the balanced control of headphones.

For the signal transmission via Bluetooth, a chip from Qualcomm is used, namely a Qualcomm CSR8675, which is Bluetooth 5.0 compliant and enables transmission via SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD as well as LDAC. This not only enables signal transmission in “CD quality”, but also hi-fi audio. A direct connection via USB is also possible, using a USB-C port.

This USB interface is of course also used to charge the integrated battery.

The new FiiO BTR3K Balanced High-fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier is expected to be available in specialist shops within the next few days. As already announced at the product launch a few weeks ago, this solution will be offered at an extremely attractive price. The manufacturer itself said that the FiiO BTR3K Balanced High-fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier is offered internationally for only US$ 69.99, although this was of course only an indication. In fact, it now appears that the recommended retail price is only € 74.90.
