Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Update – Amazon Music Support and Expanded Tone Controls

Cambridge Audio is delighted to now be able to offer an update for the Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Gen4-based systems, which includes native support for Amazon Music, as well as Expanded Tone Controls, according to Cambridge Audio.

Story Highlights
  • An update is now available for the streaming solutions based on Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Gen4, which includes support for Amazon Music.

Cambridge Audio StreamMagic is the streaming platform that the English HiFi manufacturer Cambridge Audio has been relying on for years, and which is consistently being developed further to ensure that solutions based on it always work smoothly, especially when interacting with various streaming services, and that new functions can be made available to users from time to time.

The time has come again, Cambridge Audio is now providing new firmware for products based on Cambridge Audio StreamMagic, this time specifically for the Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Gen 4 players.

Update for Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Gen 4 players

As already mentioned, the update affects all Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Gen 4 players. This means that it is available for the Cambrideg Audio EVO 75, Cambridge Audio EVO150, Cambridge Audio AXN10, Cambridge Audio MXN10, Cambridge Audio CXN100 and Cambridge Audio EXN100 solutions.

Support for Amazon Music HD

Probably the most important new feature is that Amazon Music is now supported natively, allowing you to browse the Amazon music library directly in the Cambridge Audio StreamMagic app and add tracks to a playlist together with music from NAS drives connected via UPnP or the services of TIDAL, Qobuz and Deezer. It is important to note that, as already described, all Amazon Music services are supported natively; Amazon Music HD is fully supported so that music can be played in its native resolution.

In this context, Cambridge Audio points out that directly integrated support for Amazon Music is of course also of interest to those who own players from the previous generation. They are currently investigating what is possible in this regard and will inform customers of any news as soon as possible.

Extended Tone Controls

Another key feature of the latest firmware is the inclusion of Extended Tone Controls, as the British HiFi manufacturer explains. This means that all the possibilities offered by the Cambridge Audio Evo One have now been made available to all other Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Gen 4 players.

This means that you now have a 7-band equaliser and room compensation to adapt the sound to your own room and preferences. If you use the preamp mode, balance control is now also included.

Prices and availability

The latest firmware, including the latest Cambridge StreamMagic app, was previously available as an early update to customers who are part of the corresponding StreamMagic app beta programme. From now on, the update is also available to all other users of the affected devices from Cambridge Audio who can use these new functions. The latest firmware version for all Cambridge Audio network devices with Cambridge Audio StreamMagic 4 is available immediately – 20 May 2025 – as an over-the-air update. This means that download and installation are automatically recognised by the device when an Internet connection is available and only need to be confirmed by the user.

Getting to the point

Once again, Cambridge Audio proves that it takes its promise to continuously expand and improve the Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Streaming Platform seriously and sees it as a commitment. Once again, new firmware is available for Cambridge Audio StreamMagic Gen4 players, which, in addition to direct support for Amazon Music, also includes Extended Tone Controls.
