Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 – New Generation of the Luxury Rack System for HIGH END Vienna 2026
Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. has taken one of its most distinctive rack concepts and given it a sharper, darker and more technical second chapter. Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 is not conceived merely as support furniture, but as a mechanical and architectural element for ambitious High-end systems. With carbon fibre, copper or stainless-steel detailing, new modular construction and a more deliberate approach to vibration control, the line moves closer to the territory where engineering and interior architecture meet.
- Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 is a luxury rack system that makes its technical character visible rather than hiding it behind decorative restraint. Its appeal lies in the combination of structural modularity, vibration-control measures and a distinctly architectural material language.
Italian HiFi rack specialist Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. is using HIGH END Vienna 2026 to present Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0, the second generation of one of its most visually recognisable rack lines. The new version remains faithful to the architectural ambition of the original, but presents itself with a more technical, more modular and decidedly more luxurious bearing. Its revised concept centres on a newly designed black-coated structure, solid copper or stainless-steel details, carbon fibre at the connection points and a more elaborate approach to resonance and vibration control. The design is once again by architect Marco Acerbis, who has conceived Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 both as furniture for demanding High-end systems and as a deliberately styled object for contemporary listening and living spaces.

Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 – Form Follows Function, but Not Without Style
Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. describes the new Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 as “The Technical Look of Elegance”. For once, that phrase feels rather well judged. This is not a rack line that tries to conceal its mechanics. It makes material, structure and function part of the visual argument.
The second generation looks cleaner, darker and more sharply defined than before. The previous impression, shaped more strongly by silver-coloured steel, gives way to an anthracite-black structure that can be combined, depending on version, with either copper or stainless-steel detailing.
That shifts Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 beyond the role of conventional accessory furniture for expensive HiFi components. Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. positions it as a piece of audio furniture that sits somewhere between architecture, engineering and interior design. The line remains strict and controlled, yet the contrast between black structure, carbon fibre and metal accents gives it considerably more presence.
In dedicated listening rooms, open-plan living spaces or carefully built High-end installations, this balance of mechanical precision and refined surface treatment is likely to define the character of Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0. It is a rack that wants to be seen, but not merely admired. It also wants to justify its place mechanically.
Two Models, New Structure, Greater Flexibility
The Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 Collection now comprises two models, Bassocontinuo AEROLINE F1 2.0 and Bassocontinuo AEROLINE F2 2.0. With these two versions, Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. addresses different installation scenarios, from a lower platform-style concept to a more traditional multi-level rack for complete electronics chains.
The key change is the renewed modular structure. Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. uses combinable cylindrical elements which, according to the manufacturer, allow the heights between the individual levels to be adjusted more easily. In practical terms, that matters. High-end systems rarely remain static, and component dimensions vary widely.
A large integrated amplifier, external power supplies, streaming transports, D/A converters, phono stages or turntable-related electronics all place different demands on rack spacing. The adjustable architecture of Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 is therefore not simply a convenience feature. It is part of the long-term usefulness of a rack system intended for serious audio installations.
Carbon Fibre, Steel, Aluminium and Targeted Damping
Technically, Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. remains close to its own philosophy: a rack should not simply carry equipment, it should perform a mechanical function. The load-bearing structure is based on steel tubes with a diameter of 50 mm, coupled to the shelves through special carbon fibre connectors. According to the manufacturer, these carbon fibre elements are intended not only to provide stability, but also to contribute to damping.
The shelves themselves are supported through a decoupling system already used by Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. in higher-positioned lines such as the Bassocontinuo Reference Line and Bassocontinuo Revolution X. Rubber O-rings are used between the cylindrical elements and at the interfaces with the shelves. Contact with the floor is handled by height-adjustable half-spheres which, together with stabilising rubber discs, are intended to enable precise levelling and fine mechanical adjustment.
Also new is an aluminium plate integrated into the middle shelf. It is intended to increase overall rigidity and stability. Together with a mass damper beneath the upper level, it is also designed to help channel resonance energy in a more controlled manner and reduce vibration more effectively.
Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. is therefore making a clear point: Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 is not defined by appearance alone. It remains a technically serious rack system, and the visual restyling is matched by a more explicit mechanical vocabulary.
Materials with an Architectural Character
The surfaces and inlay panels play a central role in the new visual identity of Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0. The shelves are finished in Ash Grey and can be combined with a choice of materials. Options include Viroc, ceramic and carbon fibre.
The Viroc option is particularly interesting. This wood-cement composite material comes from the architectural field, and its raw, irregular surface means, according to the manufacturer, that each panel has its own structure, shading and material effect. Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. names this version The Urban Core – Industrial Grey.
Two ceramic versions are offered under the names The Noble Core – Sahara Noir and The Noble Core – Black Marquinia. Sahara Noir has an anthracite appearance with warm, stone-like structures ranging from gold to brown. Black Marquinia takes its cue from black marble with bright veining and is intended to contrast particularly strongly with the deep black of the HDF shelves and the matt carbon fibre elements.
The most overtly technical version is called The Carbon Core – Racing Black. Here, carbon fibre connectors are combined with carbon fibre inserts, giving Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 its most performance-led appearance within the new collection.
Design by Marco Acerbis
The design of Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 comes from Marco Acerbis, an internationally active architect and designer. Acerbis has worked with Foster + Partners and Mario Bellini, among others, and has received renowned distinctions including the Compasso d’Oro. For Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l., he designed the entire Bassocontinuo AEROLINE line.
His approach is clearly legible in Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0. The rack is not meant to look like technical equipment that must be tucked away as discreetly as possible. It is intended to become part of the room’s composition, without making design more important than function.
That is precisely where the line becomes interesting. Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 openly plays with material, construction and proportion, yet it remains closely connected to the requirements of high-quality audio components. It has presence, but not theatricality; precision, but not sterility.
Accessories – Carbon Fibre Cable Management
To complement the rack line, Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. also offers a dedicated Cable Management system. This, too, was designed by Marco Acerbis and is made from carbon fibre. It is intended not only to organise cables visually, but also to enable cleaner separation of mains and signal cables.
In a high-quality HiFi system, that is more than a matter of tidiness. Proper cable routing makes installation easier, reduces strain on sockets and connectors, and helps keep power supply and signal paths more clearly separated. The Cable Management accessory is offered as a set of two.

Conclusion
With Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0, Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. sharpens a line that was never intended to be a mere equipment stand. The second generation feels more technical, more mature and at the same time more suitable for refined living spaces, because the material combinations are more clearly defined and the construction engages more visibly with resonance control.
What is particularly convincing is that Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. does not treat flexibility as a secondary feature. It is built into the structure of the system. For high-quality HiFi installations in which technology, cable discipline, material quality and room presence all need to make sense together, Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 is one of the more interesting High-end furniture introductions shown at HIGH END Vienna 2026.
