The new version remains faithful to the architectural ambition of the original, but presents itself with a more technical, more modular and decidedly more luxurious bearing. Its revised concept centres on a newly designed black-coated structure, solid copper or stainless-steel details, carbon fibre at the connection points and a more elaborate approach to resonance and vibration control. The design is once again by architect Marco Acerbis, who has conceived Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 both as furniture for demanding High-end systems and as a deliberately styled object for contemporary listening and living spaces.

Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. describes the new Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 as “The Technical Look of Elegance”. For once, that phrase feels rather well judged. This is not a rack line that tries to conceal its mechanics. It makes material, structure and function part of the visual argument.

The second generation looks cleaner, darker and more sharply defined than before. The previous impression, shaped more strongly by silver-coloured steel, gives way to an anthracite-black structure that can be combined, depending on version, with either copper or stainless-steel detailing.

Two Models, New Structure, Greater Flexibility

The Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 Collection now comprises two models, Bassocontinuo AEROLINE F1 2.0 and Bassocontinuo AEROLINE F2 2.0. With these two versions, Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. addresses different installation scenarios, from a lower platform-style concept to a more traditional multi-level rack for complete electronics chains.

The key change is the renewed modular structure. Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. uses combinable cylindrical elements which, according to the manufacturer, allow the heights between the individual levels to be adjusted more easily. Carbon Fibre, Steel, Aluminium and Targeted Damping

Technically, Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. remains close to its own philosophy: a rack should not simply carry equipment, it should perform a mechanical function. The load-bearing structure is based on steel tubes with a diameter of 50 mm, coupled to the shelves through special carbon fibre connectors. According to the manufacturer, these carbon fibre elements are intended not only to provide stability, but also to contribute to damping.

The shelves themselves are supported through a decoupling system already used by Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. in higher-positioned lines such as the Bassocontinuo Reference Line and Bassocontinuo Revolution X. Rubber O-rings are used between the cylindrical elements and at the interfaces with the shelves. Contact with the floor is handled by height-adjustable half-spheres which, together with stabilising rubber discs, are intended to enable precise levelling and fine mechanical adjustment.

Also new is an aluminium plate integrated into the middle shelf. It is intended to increase overall rigidity and stability. Together with a mass damper beneath the upper level, it is also designed to help channel resonance energy in a more controlled manner and reduce vibration more effectively.

Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. is therefore making a clear point: Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 is not defined by appearance alone. It remains a technically serious rack system, and the visual restyling is matched by a more explicit mechanical vocabulary.

Materials with an Architectural Character

The surfaces and inlay panels play a central role in the new visual identity of Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0. The shelves are finished in Ash Grey and can be combined with a choice of materials. Options include Viroc, ceramic and carbon fibre.

The Viroc option is particularly interesting. This wood-cement composite material comes from the architectural field, and its raw, irregular surface means, according to the manufacturer, that each panel has its own structure, shading and material effect. Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. names this version The Urban Core – Industrial Grey.

Two ceramic versions are offered under the names The Noble Core – Sahara Noir and The Noble Core – Black Marquinia. Sahara Noir has an anthracite appearance with warm, stone-like structures ranging from gold to brown. Black Marquinia takes its cue from black marble with bright veining and is intended to contrast particularly strongly with the deep black of the HDF shelves and the matt carbon fibre elements.

The most overtly technical version is called The Carbon Core – Racing Black. Here, carbon fibre connectors are combined with carbon fibre inserts, giving Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 its most performance-led appearance within the new collection.

The design of Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 comes from Marco Acerbis, an internationally active architect and designer. Acerbis has worked with Foster + Partners and Mario Bellini, among others, and has received renowned distinctions including the Compasso d’Oro. For Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l., he designed the entire Bassocontinuo AEROLINE line.

His approach is clearly legible in Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0. The rack is not meant to look like technical equipment that must be tucked away as discreetly as possible. It is intended to become part of the room’s composition, without making design more important than function.

That is precisely where the line becomes interesting. Bassocontinuo AEROLINE 2.0 openly plays with material, construction and proportion, yet it remains closely connected to the requirements of high-quality audio components. It has presence, but not theatricality; precision, but not sterility.

Accessories – Carbon Fibre Cable Management

To complement the rack line, Bassocontinuo Audio Systems S.r.l. also offers a dedicated Cable Management system. This, too, was designed by Marco Acerbis and is made from carbon fibre.
