Cambridge Audio EDGE NQ and Cambridge Audio CXN (V2) are Roon Ready

Previously, Cambridge Audio was able to declare its streaming solutions based on the Cambridge Audio StreamMagic platform as Roon Tested, but now the two streaming systems Cambridge Audio EDGE NQ Network Preamplifier and Cambridge Audio CXN (V2) Network Streamer are also classified as Roon Ready.

The English hi-fi company Cambridge Audio has been using the so-called Cambridge Audio StreamMagic platform for some time now. This platform can be found in the outstanding streaming client and preamplifier Cambridge Audio EDGE NQ Network Preamplifier from the Cambridge Audio EDGE Series, but the Cambridge Audio CXN (V2) Network Streamer from the Cambridge Audio CX Series is also equipped with Cambridge Audio StreamMagic.

The exciting thing about this platform is that Cambridge Audio provides a technology that enables hi-fi audio streaming from various sources in the simplest possible way with the highest level of user comfort. This technology platform has been consistently developed over the years, so that new functions are constantly being added via ongoing updates, above all direct access to streaming services such as TIDAL or Qobuz, to name just two examples. Apple AirPlay, Google Chromecast and Spotify Connect are also supported by this platform, and UPnP is also available as the “lowest common denominator”.

And what about the media management and multiroom audio streaming solution from Roon Labs LLC. that has the potential to become the new standard in its field? Well, so far, Cambridge Audio’s systems have at least been Roon Tested, meaning that the integrated USB DAC could be used to connect a PC or Mac directly for the best possible playback. Admittedly, not quite the most elegant solution…

Now, however, the two systems Cambridge Audio EDGE NQ Network Preamplifier and Cambridge Audio CXN (V2) Network Streamer are classified as Roon Ready, which means that they can be used optimally with Roon directly over the network. This means that these solutions not only automatically appear in Roon as the corresponding device, but the signal transmission is also carried out using RAAT, the Roon Advanced Audio Transport developed by Roon Labs LLC. for bit-perfect audio streaming playback for the best results.

The firmware update for the two systems Cambridge Audio EDGE NQ Network Preamplifier as well as Cambridge Audio CXN (V2) Network Streamer is of course available to users free of charge.
