Advanced Honeycomb-structured Stainless-steel Frame
At the heart of every cartridge system in the new Ortofon MC X Series is a very special core, the so-called Advanced Honeycomb-structured Stainless-steel Frame. To put it in a nutshell, this is a honeycomb-structured design that is manufactured using metal injection moulding technology and is said to offer maximum stability and rigidity with minimum weight.
Pure silver coil system and optimised magnet system
In addition, the cartridge systems of the Ortofon MC X Series are based on a pure silver coil system, which leads to exceptional signal clarity and detail, and combines this with the newly developed Optimised Magnet System.
This special design is intended to maximise magnetic efficiency and thus also ensure a clear, powerful performance and thus allow increased performance on a completely new level.
Damping system with specially developed elastomer
The so-called damping system also plays an important role, with Ortofon A/S using a specially developed rubber compound for the new Ortofon MC X Series. This ensures that the control of the coil movement in the magnetic field is always absolutely precise and thus allows a pick-up free of unwanted resonances, with maximum tracking accuracy and minimum distortion.
Ortofon MC X Series – Ortofon MC X10, Ortofon MC X20, Ortofon MC X30 and Ortofon MC X40
As already mentioned, the Ortofon MC X Series comprises four models, namely the Ortofon MC X10, Ortofon MC X20, Ortofon MC X30 and Ortofon MC X40 solutions. Ortofon A/S refers to all cartridge systems in this product range as premium class solutions, starting with the Ortofon MC X10 in the form of a system with Eliptical Diamond Stylus and an aluminium stylus. The Ortofon MC X20 uses a Nude Elliptical Diamond with an aluminium stylus and the Ortofon MC X30 comes with a Nude Fine Line Diamond stylus and an aluminium stylus. The Ortofon MC X40 stands out with a Nude Shibata Diamond Stylus mounted on a particularly rigid yet very light needle carrier made of boron, which is intended to give the cartridge system a very special transparency, clarity and precision.

The new Ortofon MC X Series solutions will be available from specialist retailers in the next few days, as promised by the manufacturer. Prices start at € 299,- for the Ortofon MC X10, € 499,- for the Ortofon MC X20, € 699,- for the Ortofon MC X30 and € 999,- for the Ortofon MC X40.
