The two Italian companies Sonus faber S.p.a. and Maserati entered into an extremely important partnership for both sides some time ago. Important because both companies benefit immensely from this co-operation. Based on this partnership, audio systems were designed for the automotive sector, specifically, of course, the latest Maserati brand vehicles, all of which are equipped with an audio system from Sonus faber S.p.a., the Sonus faber Premium Sound System or even the Sonus faber High Premium Sound System.
Now, however, the two traditional Italian brands are presenting a product from the world of classic HiFi, and this too is particularly exclusive, as it is a limited edition special model of the Sonus faber Amati G5, which is being offered as the Sonus faber Amati Folgore Limited.
Inspired by the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore
As the name suggests, the design of the Sonus faber Amati Folgore Limited Edition was inspired by the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, the very first all-electric vehicle from the Maserati brand.
As already mentioned, this loudspeaker, produced in a limited edition only, embodies the core values of Sonus faber S.p.a. and, as part of the Sonus faber Hommage Collection, offers an exceptional listening experience that does justice to the name Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, the two Italian companies agreed in their description on the occasion of the presentation of the Sonus faber Amati Folgore Limited Edition.
Particularly exclusive, unique design
From a technical perspective, the Sonus faber Amati G5 has remained unchanged, but it has a very special design. This traditionally lute-shaped speaker system is presented in the colour Rame Folgore and features accents made from ECONYL. ECONYL is a textile material made from recycled polyamide and is used for the seats in the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore. It is manufactured using a laser to create a special structure in which the baffle of the loudspeaker systems is presented.
At the top, we must of course point out this detail, there is the typical Maserati brand trident, which is known to come from the trident of the sea god Neptune, which can be found in Piazza Nettuno in Bologna.
Of course, the special version of the Sonus faber Amati G5 is also handmade directly at Sonus faber S.p.a., as are all the solutions in the Sonus faber Homage Collection.
The key technical data of the Sonus Faber Amati Folgore Limited Edition
Finally, for the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that this is a 3.5-way loudspeaker system in which two 220 mm woofers with Dual Drive Motor System, a 150 mm Mittenton driver with powerful neodymium magnet system and a 28 mm soft dome tweeter with high-power neodymium magnet system and DAD Arrow Point are used.
The crossover is set at 200 Hz, 270 Hz and 22 kHz and the speaker system can reproduce a frequency range between 28 Hz and 35 kHz. With an impedance of 4 ohms and an efficiency of 91 dB, the speaker system is designed for amplifiers with an output of 50 to 450 watts. With dimensions of 1.176 x 411 x 512 mm, this solution weighs 61 kg per unit.
