Nubert nuPro XS Series, the successor generation of the highly acclaimed and successful Nubert nuPro X Series of active loudspeakers from Nubert electronic GmbH. Four models will be available: the Nubert nuPro XS-3000 RC, Nubert nuPro XS-4000 RC, Nubert nuPro XS-6000 RC and Nubert nuPro XS-8000 RC. While the compact speaker systems Nubert nuPro XS-3000 RC and Nubert nuPro XS-4000 RC can already be pre-ordered and will be delivered in August 2022, the two floorstanding speaker systems Nubert nuPro XS-6000 RC and Nubert nuPro XS-8000 RC still require a little patience.
Nubert nuPro XS Series – The Evolution of the Nubert nuPro X Series
Nubert electronic GmbH calls the new Nubert nuPro XS Series another evolutionary step of the Nubert nuPro X Series, whereby ma has once again made some very striking improvements. However, the company from Schwäbisch Gmünd states that it was of course very important to maintain the excellent features that are appreciated by many users, namely as an active studio monitor as well as an active hi-fi loudspeaker. In addition, there is now a very important new aspect, namely the use in a surround environment, i.e. as the basis or extension of a home cinema setup.
The focus here is on the brand new Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC, which can act as the central solution for a wireless surround sound system.
Impeccable Sound Performance
All loudspeaker systems from Nubert electronic GmbH are based on a linear sound in order to reproduce music and films as they originally exist, according to the promise of the company from Schwäbisch Gmünd. Of course, this also applies to the manufacturer’s active loudspeaker systems, with the added advantage that the electronics and loudspeaker system are cast from the same mould and can therefore be optimally matched to each other by the developers.
In this way, the demand for maximum bass response from compact enclosures as well as a natural performance in the mid-range and a detailed reproduction in the high-frequency range can be realised in the best possible way.
Individual adaptation to personal taste
Even if, as just described, a neutral reproduction is the declared goal of the developers, they still want to offer the user the possibility of adapting the performance to his or her individual wishes.
For this purpose, a particularly sophisticated option is available, namely the so-called Nubert sound balance. This is nothing more than a tone control for the bass, mid-range and treble, but it is designed in such a sophisticated way that the adjustment is always made in such a way that the result is always a coherent performance. In addition, there is a 5-band equaliser that also allows individual adjustment.
Another very exciting feature is the Nubert Adaptive Loudness function, which automatically adjusts the bass to ensure that the sound is correct even at low volumes, for example when you want to enjoy music or films at a low level late at night.
Optimised Nubert X-Room Calibration
In order to guarantee an optimal performance in every room, the Nubert X-Room Calibration is available for the solutions of the new Nubert nuPro XS series in the proven manner, i.e. a room calibration for more bass control and ultimately better sound. A suitable app is available for Apple iOS and Google Android. For technical reasons, however, only Apple iOS is able to carry out this calibration without further aids, as the developers can rely on the technical features of the integrated microphone of an Apple iPhone, whereas Google Android naturally uses a wide variety of smartphones with completely different technical features. For users with a smartphone based on Google Android, Nubert electronic GmbH therefore offers the Nubert XRC Android Interface as an optional accessory.
It should be mentioned in this context that with the models of the Nubert nuPro XS series, each individual loudspeaker is calibrated and thus the result should be even better and more precise.
Open for almost everything
There is certainly no lack of connections and connection options with various sources in the new models of the Nubert nuPro XS series. All models are equipped with two optical S/PDIF interfaces, but also with two coaxial S/PDIF and one AES/EBU to connect digital sources. There is also a USB port so that a PC or Mac can function directly as a source.
HDMI is also included, although this interface is realised via an adapter that is connected to the USB port on the back. This offers the great advantage that this adapter can be replaced by a new model if necessary, which is not the worst decision Nubert electronic GmbH could have made in view of the comparatively fast developing HDMI standard.
Of course, there is also an input for analogue sources, such as a record player, although an external phono preamplifier is required.
For the integration of mobile devices, the speaker systems of the Nubert nuPro XS series offer Bluetooth, whereby it is a Bluetooth module that supports the codecs SBC and AAC as well as aptX, aptX HD and aptX Low Latency.
Active subwoofers can be connected via cable via a Sub Out, which should of course also be mentioned at this point.
Nubert X-Connect and Nubert X-Connect Surround
Nubert electronic GmbH already offered the possibility to control various components of the Nubert nuPro X series wirelessly via Nubert X-Connect. This option is of course also available for the models of the new Nubert nuPro XS series, whereby a signal transmission with lowest latency and 24 bit and 192 kHz takes place.
However, they have now gone one step further and implemented the latest wireless standard, namely Nubert X-Connect Surround.
This means that it is now possible not only to implement stereo solutions, but even to use surround sound, whereby the systems of the Nubert nuPro XS series are to be used first and foremost as surround speakers, especially around the Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC solution.
With this sounddesk, surround solutions can be realised that are in no way inferior to a conventional AV system consisting of an AV receiver plus passive speakers and that support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X in addition to Dolby Digital and DTS, thus even offering immersive 3D surround.
Surround signal transmission is via radio at 24-bit and 48 kHz with such low latency that lip-sync performance for home cinema is guaranteed at all times.
Nubert nuPro XS-3000 RC
The Nubert nuPro XS-3000 RC is the smallest model in the new Nubert nuPro XS series and, according to the manufacturer, is not only suitable as a stereo speaker for the desk or lowboard, but also as a monitoring monitor for semi-professional sound studios. With a peak power of 440 watts and a lower cut-off frequency of 38 Hz, Nubert electronic GmbH is convinced that this speaker reaches performance dimensions that were unattainable in this size class until recently.
Nubert nuPro XS-4000 RC
The big sister of the Nubert nuPro XS-3000 RC is the Nubert nuPro XS-4000 RC, which according to the manufacturer is even more convincing in every area. Especially the imaging in the lowest frequency range is even better, or better said, it goes even lower. Here, the lower cut-off frequency is specified at 30 Hz, which means that the Nubert nuPro reaches areas that one would expect from floorstanding loudspeaker systems.
If you are considering an additional subwoofer for the Nubert nuPro XS-3000 RC, you can be sure that you won’t need one with the Nubert nuPro XS-4000 RC.
Nubert nuPro XS-6000 RC and Nubert nuPro XS-8000 RC
Later this year, the Nubert nuPro XS series is to be expanded by two more models, namely the floorstanding speaker systems Nubert nuPro XS-6000 RC and Nubert nuPro XS-8000 RC, which are supposed to boast a particularly powerful yet balanced performance.
Prices and availability
The active loudspeaker systems of the new Nubert nuPro XS series will be available in the proven black and white finishes. The Nubert nuPro XS-3000 RC and Nubert nuPro XS-4000 RC models can be pre-ordered now. Delivery is scheduled for August 2022, as the manufacturer from Schwäbisch Gmünd promises. The retail price for the Nubert nuPro XS-3000 RC is € 695,- and for the Nubert nuPro XS-4000 RC € 895,-, both prices being per unit. For the Nubert nuPro XS-6000 RC and Nubert nuPro XS-8000 RC, which are to follow in autumn, the company does not give any prices yet.
Getting to the point
According to Nubert electronic GmbH, the new Nubert nuPro XS series is a comprehensive update of the Nubert nuPro X series and heralds an extremely exciting evolution in the new generation. The new models Nubert nuPro XS-3000 RC, Nubert nuPro XS-4000 RC as well as Nubert nuPro XS-6000 RC and Nubert nuPro XS-8000 RC are still designed as extremely attractive, flexible and powerful active loudspeakers for hi-fi and semi-professional sound studios, but can now also be used in the surround environment, because here, for the first time, not only Nubert X-Connect is used, but also Nubert X-Connect Surround.
