Nubert nuConnect trX – Universal wireless module

The new Nubert nuConnect trX is a universal wireless module that works either as a transmitter or receiver, is based on the Nubert X-Connect wireless network, and ensures stable, high-resolution and virtually latency-free signal transmission.

The German company Nubert electronic GmbH has been relying on radio for some time now for a wide variety of solutions, and this is a special radio network, which has been christened Nubert X-Connect. The advantage of this solution is that it is a stand-alone network, which therefore does not require any infrastructure such as a WLAN network. In addition, it is a technology that works quite simply and straightforwardly, so that in many cases setup is almost automatic with little user intervention. The user does not need any technical knowledge, just press a button here and there and the job is done. Nubert X-Connect allows high-resolution signal transmission and is characterized by a very low latency, which is ultimately unnoticeable in practice, so that this technology is not only used in stereo, but even solutions in home cinema with lip-synchronous audio playback can be realized.

Nubert electronic GmbH has been pushing this wireless technology in the last few months. It is used in the active loudspeaker systems of the Nubert nuPro X series as well as in the subwoofers of the Nubert XW generation. The compact stereo integrated amplifier Nubert nuConnect ampX also has integrated Nubert X-Connect and it is expected that many more solutions with this technology will follow in the future.

One of them is the new Nubert nuConnect trX, which Nubert electronic GmbH now presents as an extremely versatile solution.

The new Nubert nuConnect trX is a universal wireless module based on Nubert X-Connect that allows simple, yet extremely reliable, high-resolution signal connections between a wide range of audio systems. As a so-called transceiver, the system can operate either as a transmitter or receiver and has flexible connection options for both analogue and digital signals. Of course the new Nubert nuConnect trX can be used in combination with all other solutions from Nubert electronic GmbH, which also have Nubert X-Connect.

The Nubert nuConnect trX measures no more than 4.7 x 1.7 x 9 cm and weighs only 60 g. In fact, it is a very inconspicuous little black box that can be easily and discreetly hidden almost anywhere, be it behind the HiFi or AV system, or behind speakers.

Connectors include a 3.5 mm stereo mini jack plug and an optical S/PDIF interface, which can be used as a transmitter or receiver, depending on the operating mode, as input or output. There is also a USB-C port, so that a direct connection to a PC or Mac can be established, whereby the Nubert nuConnect trX then functions as a transmitter. When used as a receiver, the USB-C port in combination with a Nubert digital port serves as an electrical S/PDIF interface, for example on a Nubert nuPro X-Series active speaker or a Nubert ampX. In principle, however, this USB port is primarily used to supply power to the new Nubert nuConnect trX.

In the simplest case, the new Nubert nuConnect trX is used as an extension of a system with Nubert X-Connect, i.e. to connect an AV receiver with a correspondingly equipped subwoofer from Nubert electronic GmbH, or to integrate a further audio device in the environment of Nubert nuPro X loudspeaker systems.

Of course it is also possible to use two Nubert nuConnect trX to connect any solution via radio, the possibilities are almost endless…

The signal is transmitted at 24 bits and 192 kHz in the frequency range between 5.1 and 5.8 GHz. At the touch of a button, you can switch between the transmitter and receiver operating modes, and no more than the touch of a button is required to establish a radio link. A multi-coloured LED provides information about the activated connection and the operating mode. One transmitter can address several receivers, and up to three transmitters can be operated in parallel.

The manufacturer states that the range of the radio link is up to 50 m, and 10 to 20 m should be easily reached even in difficult environments, according to the manufacturer’s promise. The latency should not exceed 20 ms.

In the scope of delivery, typical for Nubert electronic GmbH, you will find essentially everything you need for the flexible use of the new Nubert nuConnect trX. For example, the product comes with a jack RCA cable to connect it to any stereo amplifier, AV receiver, subwoofer, active speaker or any source with RCA connectors.

Of course, the new Nubert nuConnect trX has an auto-standby mode, so that it is activated immediately when a signal is applied, and after a longer period of time without a signal it is switched back to standby. During operation the power consumption should not exceed 1.5 W.

The new Nubert nuConnect trX is now available directly from Nubert electronic GmbH. The price for this solution is € 131,-.
