Marantz and Denon – 59 models now Roon tested

Sound United LLC. can now announce that no less than 59 models of the Denon and Marantz brands will be designated at one stroke as so-called Roon Tested Devices. In addition to solutions where this is done via the integrated USB DAC, Apple AirPlay is the main focus here.

Roon Labs LLC. succeeded in creating a solution within a very short time that has long been considered a kind of standard in the field of high-end multiroom audio streaming. Roon represents by far the most versatile and convenient media management and multiroom audio streaming software on the market, and the great success of this solution is due in no small part to the broad support of a wide range of products from various manufacturers. Roon Labs LLC. has been able to bring countless established manufacturers on board through intensive cooperation, whereby two certifications are relevant here: Roon Ready and Roon Tested.

While Roon Ready applies to streaming systems that can directly access the RAAT developed by Roon Labs LLC. and as such guarantee bit-perfect streaming, Roon Tested stands for solutions with D/A converters, which, directly connected to a PC or Mac, can also be directly addressed as Roon Devices.

Among the countless manufacturers that Roon Labs LLC. has partnered with, Sound United LLC. has now joined the ranks with a large number of Denon and Marantz products. 59 of them are certified as Roon Tested right from the start of this partnership. Well, Sound United LLC. is taking advantage of the fact that Roon supports Apple AirPlay in addition to the streaming platform Google Chromecast, so that the company can build on the latter. In addition to systems with integrated USB DAC, these are solutions that support Apple AirPlay and can therefore be designated as Roon Tested. However, RAAT (Roon Advanced Audio Transport) is not supported by Apple AirPlay, this should be emphasized. Roon Tested is therefore no more than a guarantee that the systems will work properly with Apple AirPlay, special technical features are not available.

“We are pleased to have worked with the Sound United team to ensure the best possible Roon listening experience across a wide range of Marantz products. Few audio brands have such a long history as Marantz, and we are honored to be a part of their future. – Rob Darling, Directory of Strategy Roon Labs LLC.

Among the solutions that are now considered Roon Tested are a variety of systems, ranging from stereo integrated amplifiers to CD/SACD players, and of course a range of A/V receivers and designated network streamers.

Denon lists 31 products, Marantz 28, and a detailed list of Denon’s solutions can be found on a special website, as can Marantz.

“An important aspect of the listening experience is to learn more about favourite artists, songwriters and bands. This makes the music more intimate and lively. In the past, this certain familiarity was conveyed by record or CD covers and was previously lacking in digital online music services. Roon was one of the first to help bring this kind of experience to the world of music streaming. We are delighted that Marantz and Denon are now Roon Tested so that our enthusiastic customers can continue to learn more about the music they love”. – Brendon Stead, Senior Vice President of Product Development Sound United LLC.
