Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 – Compact Desktop Audio System with Vintage Touch
Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 is a particularly compact active speaker system that can essentially take over the tasks of a small hi-fi system. In this way, an audio system can be realised in the simplest way, which nevertheless provides a high degree of flexibility in use and, above all, a rich, powerful sound with the smallest space requirement. And since this solution has the word Heritage in its name, Klipsch has chosen a special design with a vintage touch, which is to be understood as a reminiscence of 75 years of Klipsch Horn, of loudspeaker systems such as Klipsch Heresey and Klipsch La Scala.
Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 – Two satellites plus subwoofer
As the name suggests, the new Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 is a 2.1-channel system that relies on two satellites and an additional active subwoofer.
This offers the great advantage that the satellites in question can be kept comparatively small and mainly deal with the reproduction of the high and medium frequency ranges, whereas the low frequency range is sovereignly reproduced by a powerful subwoofer.
While this makes it very easy to place the satellites optimally, even if space is tight, the subwoofer disappears discreetly into a corner or between pieces of furniture if desired.
The technical basis for the Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 is a so-called semi-active sub/sat technology, whereby the manufacturer claims to have tuned this solution for the greatest possible dynamics and deep bass reproduction. This is supposed to achieve a full, rich reproduction even at low levels; at higher levels, the system comes up trumps with corresponding assertiveness.
A wide, spatial reproduction should guarantee a room-filling, accurately staggered sound image both in near-field operation, for example on a desk, and at a greater listening distance, as is the case when used in the living room.

Satellites with Klipsch Horn
The satellites were designed with 4 inch long excursion polyfibre cone drivers, which took over the job of the midrange driver. These were combined with 1 inch polymer compression drivers as tweeters. The special feature here is that even in a compact system like the Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1, the tweeter naturally also features a Klipsch Tractrix Horn, the technology found in many legendary Klipsch solutions and which has been synonymous with Klipsch solutions for years.
The subwoofer houses an 8-inch long-throw polyfibre cone, which is supported by a bass reflex system to achieve a particularly impressive bass response.
The three amplifiers of the Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 are separated semi-actively, whereby the level of the subwoofer can, of course, be adjusted quite conveniently with the aid of the remote control included in the scope of delivery, so that the reproduction can be optimally adapted to the room or the individual listening position.
The Class D amplifiers provide 35 watts per channel for the satellites and 100 watts for the subwoofer alone. The manufacturer explicitly points out that the signal processing of the Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 is particularly low-noise.
According to the manufacturer, the new Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 is capable of reproducing a frequency range between 29 Hz and 20 kHz.

Analogue or Bluetooth or USB
When it comes to integrating different sources, the new Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 doesn’t offer many options at first glance, because in fact there is only one analogue input in the form of a pair of RCA sockets.
However, flexibility is provided by the integrated Bluetooth module, which allows any smartphone, tablet or PC, as well as many TVs, to be directly connected “wirelessly” to the Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1. A USB-A port is also available on the Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1.

Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 – compact high-performance desktop audio system
As already described, the new Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 is a compact all-in-one system that can best be described as a desktop audio solution.
The satellites each measure 203 x 140 x 109 mm, while the subwoofer is considerably larger at 305 x 254 x 381 mm.
For both, the developers used MDF cabinets, which are covered with vinyl foil and present themselves in Klipsch’s typical vintage look, not least due to the grey-melted textile covering of the speaker grill. The customer has the choice between a black and a black ash finish.
Prices and availability
The new Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 is available immediately from specialist dealers. As mentioned above, you can choose between the Black Ash and Black versions. In both cases, the recommended retail price for the new Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 is € 399,-.
Getting to the point
Once again, the US loudspeaker specialist Klipsch presents the Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1, a so-called desktop audio system that, due to its compact dimensions, can be used in a variety of ways wherever space is at a premium. This starts with the desk and extends to the bedroom, children’s or teenager’s room and even the living room. The special feature of the new Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1 is its design, because this is a solution of the Klipsch Heritage Series, which therefore presents itself with a very appealing vintage touch.
