- Together with McLaren Racing, Klipsch is now launching the Klipsch McLaren Legends Series, which will include a variety of solutions.
Klipsch The Nines McLaren Edition Powered Monitors, Klipsch Forte McLaren Edition Floorstanding Loudspeakers, Klipsch The One II McLaren Edition Tabletop Speaker and Klipsch MCL-905 McLaren Edition Speaker – this is the new Klipsch McLaren Legends Series, which the US loudspeaker specialist Klipsch is now presenting together with McLaren Racing at CES 2023. The aim is to further intensify the partnership that was established some time ago, as both companies state in a joint statement.
Partnership between McLaren Racing and Klipsch to be extended
Klipsch is already the official partner of McLaren Racing in the area of personal audio devices, specifically headphones. With the solutions of the now presented Klipsch McLaren Legends Series, the offer is now significantly expanded, whereby it was the declared goal of both companies to combine the incomparable design and technical innovation of McLaren Racing with the legendary high fidelity sound of Klipsch, as it says literally in the already mentioned statement of Klipsch and McLaren Racing.
Bruce McLaren’s No. 5 as a distinctive marker
Aside from the McLaren Racing signature Papaya Orange, which is a very distinctive accent on all Klipsch McLaren Legends Series products, the solutions in this range always feature the No. 5 imprint as another distinctive feature.
This is a direct reference to Bruce McLaren’s very first triumph, in 1958, when he became the youngest Grand Prix winner with the number 5 on his car.
Klipsch The Nines McLaren Edition Powered Monitors
The brand new Klipsch The Nines McLaren Edition Powered Monitors are an active loudspeaker system that is ideally equipped to meet the most modern demands and that delivers room-filling sound without taking up too much space.
The system uses powerful ultra-low-noise amplifiers, as the manufacturer describes them, as well as tweeters with proprietary Klipsch Tractrix Horn technology and 8-inch long-throw woofers, which are supported by a bass reflex system for a particularly superior, powerful performance.
First and foremost, the Klipsch The Nines McLaren Edition offer Bluetooth 5.0 technology for integrating smartphones and tablets, for example, as well as an HDMI interface with ARC, an optical S/PDIF interface and USB. Among the analogue interfaces, the phono preamplifier stands out, which allows direct integration of record players equipped with MM cartridge systems.
The free Klipsch Connect App offers EQ adjustment, over-the-air firmware updates, quick setup videos, one-tap support and product registration.
Klipsch Forte McLaren Edition Floorstanding Loudspeaker
First introduced in 1985, the Klipsch Forte quickly established itself as the most popular Klipsch model. Its elegant design, outstanding performance ensured this and now serve as the Klipsch Forte IV, the basis for the special edition Klipsch McLaren The Legends Series.
The Klipsch Forte McLaren Edition Floorstanding Loudspeaker has a three-way design, using a Klipsch K-702 midrange driver with a modified Klipsch Tractrix horn and Klipsch’s patented Mumps Technology. In addition, there is a 1 inch titanium cone tweeter driver and a 12 inch woofer as well as an additional passive 15 inch sub-bass radiator.
The connection panel is made of aluminium and is designed in such a way that even massive cables can be used without problems and a reliable connection is always guaranteed. Even bi-amping is possible here, by the way, and this should not be left out of the equation.
The Klipsch Forte McLaren Edition has a noble wood veneer, which is always matched for the speaker pair. Of course, this is achieved by hand, directly in Hope in the US state of Arkansas.
Klipsch The One II McLaren Edition Tabletop Speaker
The Klipsch The One II McLaren Edition portable speaker embodies the luxurious style of Formula 1 without compromising on sound quality, according to the manufacturer. This 60-watt, 2.1-channel product features two 2.25-inch full-range drivers and a 4.5-inch woofer. Thanks to wireless Bluetooth technology, it can be paired with smartphones and tablets in just a few clicks or connected to other source devices via the additional analogue 3.5 stereo mini-jack connection.
Klipsch MCL-905 McLaren Edition Speaker
The largest speaker in the range is the new Klipsch MCL-905 McLaren Edition, which the manufacturer claims delivers unbridled dynamics and intense cinematic realism.
In fact, this is the first time that this professional Klipsch cinema speaker has been designed for home use.
A 3-inch titanium cone compression driver mated to a Klipsch K-691 horn provides the high frequencies, while two 15-inch composite woofers in the shape of the Klipsch K-45 deliver the bass punch from the cabinet, which is handmade in Hope. Klipsch says its advanced Klipsch Tractrix horn technology provides a large soundstage that is well suited to any ‘paddock’.
It’s worth noting that only 25 pairs of the Klipsch MCL-905 McLaren Edition will be produced.
Prices and availability
According to information currently available, the first solutions of the new Klipsch McLaren Legends Series should be available immediately, at least in the USA. The manufacturer states that the Klipsch The Ninces McLaren Edition will be available immediately at the recommended price of USD 1.899,- and the Klipsch Forte McLaren Edition will also be available immediately at a price of USD 10.998,-. The Klipsch The One II McLaren Edition is scheduled to go on sale in March 2023 at a price of USD 349,-, and the Klipsch MCL-905 McLaren Edition, limited to just 25 pairs, will also go on sale in March 2023 at a price of USD 15.998,-.

The two partners are convinced that this will be a product line that combines the outstanding features of McLaren Racing and Klipsch in the now presented solutions Klipsch The Nines McLaren Edition, Klipsch Forte McLaren Edition, Klipsch The One II McLaren Edition and Klipsch MCL-905 McLaren Edition. The McLaren Racing and Klipsch companies are focusing here on particularly exclusive solutions, whereby the spectrum in the Klipsch McLaren Legends Series ranges from tabletop speakers to full-blown floor-standing speaker systems and thus goes far beyond what the two companies.
