Savant, Elan, Control4, RTI and Crestron, for all these platforms in the custom installation area, drivers for the integration of the KEF LS50 Wireless II are available or should be available soon.
The KEF LS50 Wireless II wireless speaker system is a solution designed primarily by UK specialist KEF for the discerning hi-fi enthusiast. A solution that is an enormously versatile hi-fi system in the simplest, most compact way.
This is due to the fact that this active loudspeaker system not only has conventional interfaces, but also offers its full potential via “wireless” control, be it WiFi or quite simply Bluetooth.
However, integration into the network also offers further possibilities, such as integration into custom installation solutions.
Integration in Custom Installation Solutions
Intrinsic Dev, part of Intrinsic Group Limited, now provides drivers for the leading custom installation platforms and solutions, enabling the KEF LS50 Wireless II active speaker system to be integrated directly into them and then controlled centrally.
Collaboration with Intrinsic Dev
Intrinsic Dev already offers a number of drivers for leading custom installation platforms. Integrations are available for Savant, Elan and Control4.
In addition, the corresponding drivers for the RTI and Crestron systems are already in development, whereby an availability until the end of June 2021 is indicated for the former, while no concrete release date has yet been set for the latter.
A prerequisite for all of the above integrations is that firmware V1.8 or higher is installed on the KEF LS50 Wireless II.
Implemented by certified installers and integrators
KEF explicitly states that the drivers for all control platforms must be integrated into the home control system by a certified installer or integrator. They are not designed to be installed by the end user.
The company Intrinsic Dev offers full support to dealers, installers and integrators and has a special online support platform, as KEF states in a press release.
The English hi-fi manufacturer will also provide all information about the integration of the KEF LS50 Wireless II on its website in the KEF support section.
Getting to the point
Although the KEF LS50 Wireless II is designed primarily to provide hi-fi enthusiasts with an all-in-one system that is as simple and intuitive to use as possible, this solution can do much more, especially when it comes to integrating it into complex control solutions for the entire home. This is now ensured by special drivers, which are offered by KEF together with the company Intrinsic Dev.
