Story Highlights
  • The German company IDC Klaassen International Distribution & Consulting oHG will be responsible for sales of Creek Audio Ltd. in the future.

When talking about English HiFi, many a renowned, traditional name of great HiFi manufacturers may come up, but a somewhat smaller company is undoubtedly also part of it, namely Creek Audio Ltd. Creek Audio Ltd. may not have been on the market quite as long as some of its competitors in Great Britain, but with more than four decades of experience, it has also long since built up an outstanding reputation that is beyond doubt.

Especially since the company Creek Audio Ltd. is characterised by one thing that many others can no longer claim: after all these years, it is still the founder, Michael Creek, who is at the helm of his company, developing and manufacturing the products that bear his name.

A man with a wealth of experience

When Michael Greek launched his first product at the beginning of the 1980s, specifically the Creek CAS4040 Integrated Amplifier in 1982, his company Creek Audio Ltd. had already existed for many years. He had founded it in 1976, in the mid-1970s, but initially Michael Creek worked as a consultant for other manufacturers for several years.

His career began a few years earlier, however, as Michael Creek had been working for his father’s company since 1970. At Windsor Recording Co. Ltd., he was responsible for a wide range of tasks, learning the business from the ground up, where everything revolved around reel-to-reel tape recorders and cassette recorders, as well as radios, all of which were in the lower price range.

This is particularly important to know because it was here that Michael Creek probably acquired the conviction that he still follows today: to develop solutions that are based on a simple, clear design concept, but always feature technical sophistication and are at the cutting edge of technology, and that are developed for people who, above all, love music and therefore want simple operation.

The aforementioned Creek CAS4040 Integrated Amplifier from 1982 already stood for all of this. Added to that, at just £99, it was outrageously cheap and thus a challenge to the established companies in the market.

A clearly structured, manageable product range

Today, Creek Audio Ltd. is characterised above all by the fact that, as already mentioned, it remains true to Michael Creek’s philosophy and concentrates on solutions that represent the essence of HiFi.

This means that the company does not offer the widest possible range of products, but rather focuses on a clearly structured, manageable range that covers all the essential components.

In fact, the Creek 4040 A and the associated Creek 4040 CD, as well as the Creek Voyage i20 and the Creek Voyage CD, are currently the only two combinations available that consist of a stereo integrated amplifier and a CD player. The range is rounded off by the Creek OBH-8mk2 phono preamplifier.

The solutions continue to be developed under the direction of Michael Creek, who is supported by a team of experienced engineers that can rely on the latest development and manufacturing technologies and sophisticated testing equipment to ensure impeccable quality.

Getting to the point

Creek Audio Ltd. is undoubtedly one of the classic English HiFi companies and is now one of the few where not only the philosophy of the founder is still being followed, but he also still guides the destiny of his company.
