AURALiC Ltd. has some very exciting innovations in store for High-end 2024, namely the new AURALiC S1 Series, which includes the AURALiC ARIES S1 and AURALiC VEGA S1 solutions and the matching AURALiC S1 External Purer-Power Supply.

For years, AURALiC Ltd. has been recognised as an extremely innovative provider of state-of-the-art streaming solutions. For the High-end 2024 in Munich, the company is now promising a particularly exciting innovation, namely the AURALiC S1 Series, which is being presented for the first time. According to AURALiC Ltd, this product line is the new entry-level series and is aimed at a particularly broad target group.

However, the new AURALiC S1 Series is based on existing product lines, not only from a technological point of view, but also in terms of their positioning. The product line not only includes the AURALiC ARIES S1 Streaming Processor and AURALiC VEGA S1 Streaming DAC systems, but also the optional AURALiC S1 External Purer Power Supply Unit.

AURALiC S1 Series – With technologies from the AURALiC G2.2 Series

At the top of the AURALiC Ltd. product range is the so-called AURALiC G2.2 Series, with the AURALiC ARIES G2.2 and AURALiC VEGA G2.2 models. This reference line is said to have served as inspiration for the newly introduced AURALiC S1 Series product line, even if, as already mentioned, these are now entry-level solutions and are therefore at the other end of the scale.

AURALiC Ltd. is keen to emphasise that the solutions in the new AURALiC S1 Series have been designed to offer unparalleled sound quality in their price range, relying on outstanding audio technologies that have set new industry standards in the reference series.

AURALiC S1 Streaming Processor and AURALiC VEGA S1 Streaming DAC

The solutions are based on the AURALiC Tesla G3 streaming platform and the new AURALiC S1 series will incorporate technologies and features such as Direct Memory Access (DMA), Direct Data Recording (DDR), Fusion DAC, Galvanic Isolation and others that are already familiar from the AURALiC G2.2 series solutions.

The AURALiC ARIES S1 features USB and digital outputs such as S/PDIF optical and S/PDIF coaxial plus AES/EBU, while the AURALIC VEGA S1 offers analogue XLR and RCA outputs.

Both models support seamless streaming via Ethernet using the familiar AURALiC Lightning DS platform, as well as Apple AirPlay 2, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, Internet Radio and a range of other services such as Qobuz and Amazon Music. Additional sources can also be integrated via digital interfaces, including USB audio as well as S/PDIF coaxial and S/PDIF optical.

In addition, the solutions in the new AURALiC S1 Series will be labelled as Roon-ready once certification has been completed by Roon Labs LLC.

Another special feature of the new AURALiC ARIES S1 is that it is now a solution that offers a wealth of functions for optimising playback and can also process signals from external sources.

Algorithms such as a high-quality re-sampler, parametric equaliser, loudness levelling and even DIRAC Live are available to optimally adapt the audio system to the individual room.

The AURALiC VEGA S1 is characterised by its advanced DAC technology, the heart of which is the so-called Fusion DAC developed by AURALiC Ltd., a ground-breaking innovation that seamlessly integrates and combines the best elements of discrete ladder and delta-sigma DACs.

The AURALiC VEGA S1 can be used as an analogue preamplifier, relying on analogue volume control and a particularly high-quality output stage based on so-called AURALiC ORFEO Ultra Low Noise Class A modules.

Another special feature of the new AURALiC VEGA S1 are the two modes PureDAC Mode and Tone Mode.

In PureDAC mode, the new AURALiC VEGA S1 is designed to switch off all streaming and network functions so that all digital signal processing and conversion resources are available. Using Direct Data Recording technology, music signals from any digital or USB input from the last hour are stored in the Tesla G3’s system memory, allowing the user to play back music from any point and at any time.

In addition, the Tone Mode setting refines the sound character of the DAC by incorporating harmonic elements into the music signal based on a model rooted in auditory psychology, according to the manufacturer. According to AURALiC Ltd, this is an innovative technology that significantly refines the listening experience.

AURALiC S1 External Purer-power Supply Unit

For enthusiasts looking to take audio performance to the next level, AURALiC Ltd. also offers the optional AURALiC S1 Purer-power External Power Supply Unit. According to the manufacturer, this unit has been designed to further enhance sound quality and provide an unrivalled audio experience for those who demand the highest levels of power and fidelity.

Two transformers are available here, as well as a pure-power power supply circuit described as particularly low-noise, to guarantee complete galvanic isolation between the AURALiC Tesla G3 streaming platform and the audio circuits, which in turn should reduce any interference and noise to an absolute minimum.

This external power supply is connected via an interface designed as an HDMI port.

Prices and availability

Both the AURALiC ARIES S1 and the AURALiC VEGA S1 are now available to order worldwide at a price of € 1.999,-. The optional AURALiC S1 Purer-Power External Power Supply Unit can be ordered for € 999,-.

Getting to the point

Even though this is the new entry-level line from specialist AURALiC Ltd., the AURALiC S1 Series should still be able to clearly set itself apart from the rest of the market in the streaming sector, as it is based on technology that was developed for the company’s reference line, the ARUALiC G2.2 Series. The company is therefore convinced that the new AURALiC S1 Streaming Processor and AURALiC VEGA S1 Streaming DAC solutions will set new standards in their class.
