One Amplifier, Two Routes Through the System

In its standard configuration, the Eversolo AMP-F8 is a stereo power amplifier rated at a continuous 2 × 180 Watts RMS into 8 Ohms. With a 4 Ohm load, the specified output rises to 2 × 280 Watts RMS.

That makes a single unit the obvious starting point for a conventional two-channel system. The more unusual aspect of the design becomes relevant when greater output is required: the two channels can be bridged, converting the AMP-F8 into a mono power amplifier delivering 500 Watts RMS into 8 Ohms.

A pair of AMP-F8 amplifiers can therefore be assigned one per loudspeaker. This configuration is intended for systems built around demanding floorstanding loudspeakers, larger listening rooms or applications where additional output reserves are considered worthwhile.

The power increase between 8 and 4 Ohms also points to a power supply designed with substantial current delivery in mind. Whether the amplifier remains equally composed with especially difficult loudspeaker loads can only be established by a detailed test, but the published output figures provide a promising basis.

HIGH END Vienna 2026 Was Only the Beginning

The AMP-F8 did not appear in isolation. Eversolo used the first HIGH END show to be held in Vienna in June 2026 to demonstrate an expansion well beyond the streaming solutions for which the company had become particularly successful.

Its presentation included new streaming transports, streaming hubs, D/A converters, a master clock and several amplifiers. The AMP-F8 already occupied a central position within that product offensive, although only its principal features were available at the show.

The complete technical description now gives the amplifier a much clearer place in the Eversolo range. Rather than serving merely as an accessory for the company’s streaming products, the AMP-F8 is presented as a flexible power amplifier for complete stereo systems, with bridged operation extending its role into considerably more powerful mono configurations.

Three MOSFET Pairs for Each Channel

Eversolo has chosen a Class AB output stage using three precisely matched, high-current MOSFET pairs connected in parallel for every channel. Dividing the load across several output devices is intended to distribute the required current more evenly between the individual transistors.

According to Eversolo, the arrangement is designed to deliver high linearity, low distortion and stable operation with different loudspeaker loads. The manufacturer also associates the Class AB topology with the balance of output capability, control and natural reproduction that many listeners continue to expect from a conventionally constructed power amplifier.

Small input signals are handled by a dual-differential amplification stage. A symmetrical signal path and accurately controlled negative feedback are intended to suppress common-mode interference and externally induced noise while maintaining linear behaviour across a wide dynamic range.

This architecture is deliberately traditional in its fundamental principles. Eversolo has not attempted to turn the AMP-F8 into another networked component or fold several unrelated functions into the same enclosure. Signal amplification remains its single task.

An 800 Watt Transformer at the Centre

The power supply is based on an 800 Watt toroidal transformer developed specifically for the Eversolo AMP-F8. The supplies for the two channels are arranged to minimise interaction between them.

A bank of 24 specially selected audio-grade filter capacitors accompanies the transformer. Their role is twofold: they are intended to reduce residual ripple in the supply and to make high current available quickly when the music demands a short burst of power.

Such reserves become particularly relevant during dynamic passages and when the amplifier is connected to loudspeakers whose impedance presents a more demanding load. In these situations, the power supply must prevent the output stage from reaching its limits prematurely.

Eversolo also integrates a DC blocker into the power supply. DC components present on the mains can cause a toroidal transformer to vibrate mechanically, potentially resulting in audible hum. The circuit is designed to reduce these effects and prevent the associated interference from affecting the amplifier stages.

Low Distortion and Firm Electrical Control

Eversolo specifies THD+N at 0.003 per cent at 1 kHz. The A-weighted signal-to-noise ratio is quoted at no less than 115 dB, while channel crosstalk is specified at no more than −95 dB at 180 Watts into 8 Ohms and 1 kHz.

The stated damping factor exceeds 400 into 8 Ohms at 1 kHz. In practical terms, a high damping factor is intended to give the amplifier firm electrical control over the movement of the loudspeaker drivers, particularly larger bass cones. This is relevant not only to tightly defined low frequencies but also to controlled decay and clearly articulated changes in dynamics.

Its specified frequency response extends from 10 Hz to 30 kHz, with Eversolo quoting a deviation of ±0.5 dB at an output of 1 Watt into 8 Ohms.

These figures describe an amplifier designed around low noise, low distortion and high control. They remain manufacturer specifications rather than findings from an independent listening or laboratory test, but they are consistent with the intended role of the AMP-F8 as a serious high-output power amplifier.

XLR and RCA with Selectable Gain

The rear panel provides both balanced XLR inputs and unbalanced RCA inputs. Each input type has a stated impedance of 10 kOhms, allowing the amplifier to be combined with preamplifiers, D/A converters and streaming components from Eversolo as well as other manufacturers.

Gain can be set to either 23 dB or 29 dB. This helps the AMP-F8 accommodate source components and preamplifiers with different output levels without imposing one fixed sensitivity on every system.

At the rated 180 Watts into 8 Ohms, the XLR input requires 5.2 V with 23 dB gain or 2,6 V with 29 dB gain. The corresponding figures for the RCA input are 2,65 V and 1.3 V respectively.

Eversolo identifies the Eversolo DMP-A8 Gen 2 as one suitable partner from its own range. The provision of conventional analogue inputs means that the power amplifier is not tied to that combination and can be incorporated into systems assembled from components by different manufacturers.

Compact Proportions, Considerable Weight

The Eversolo AMP-F8 is housed in CNC-machined aluminium, with sandblasted and anodised surfaces. According to the manufacturer, the solid construction is intended to reduce mechanical resonance, provide shielding from electromagnetic interference and assist with heat dissipation.

Large heatsinks run along both sides of the enclosure, while ventilation openings in the top panel allow heat generated by the Class AB circuitry to escape. Cooling is passive, with no visible fan forming part of the design.

Two analogue VU meters dominate the front panel and display the output level of the respective channels. They introduce a deliberately traditional visual element to an otherwise restrained and functional enclosure.

At 265 mm wide, 388 mm deep and 119 mm high, the AMP-F8 is relatively compact for an amplifier with its quoted output and transformer rating. Its net weight of 15.9 kg, however, gives a better indication of how substantially it has been constructed.
