With Amazon Music Unlimited, AURALiC Ltd. is now expanding the possibilities of its own streaming platform. From now on, all solutions from AURALiC Ltd. can access the Amazon offer with AURALiC Lightning DS.

AURALiC Ltd. is now expanding the AURALiC Lightning DS streaming platform to include another streaming service, namely Amazon Music Unlimited. Users of a corresponding solution can now access millions and millions of music titles.

The possibilities here range from playback in CD quality to hi-res audio, i.e. also the content that Amazon Music Unlimited calls Ultra HD.

AURALiC Lightning DS as a basis

For years, AURALiC Ltd. has been using its own platform for its streaming systems, the so-called AURALiC Lightning DS streaming platform. This allows the manufacturer to design the entire development in such a way that hardware and software are optimally matched to each other, guaranteeing not only the best quality in performance but also intuitive operation.

Amazon Music Unlimited through to Hi-res Audio

AURALiC Lightning DS is now of course also the basis for the new integration of Amazon Music Unlimited. The new offer is available directly via the corresponding app, so that the user can rely on the highest level of convenience in this regard as well.

With Amazon Music Unlimited, subscribers to this service can, according to Amazon, access more than 75 million songs in lossless quality in high definition, whereby it should be noted once again that the internet giant has a very peculiar idea of “high definition”, as it is known that this is nothing more than recordings in 16 bit and 44.1 kHz, i.e. ultimately “CD quality”.

In addition, customers can also access more than seven million songs in Ultra HD, although this is ultimately “classic” hi-res audio, as the data is available with a bit depth of 24 bits and a sampling rate of up to 192 kHz.

The now extended offer is available immediately to all users of a streaming solution from AURALiC Ltd. via the latest firmware 7.0, which is based on AURALiC Lightning DS. This applies to the AURALiC ALTAIR G1 Digital Audio Streamer, AURALiC ALTAIR G2.1 Digital Audio Streamer, AURALiC ARIES G1 Streaming Transport, AURALiC ARIES G2.1 Streaming Transport, but also to the AURALiC VEGA G1 Streaming DAC and AURALiC VEGA G2.1 Streaming DAC solutions. The update is of course free of charge.
