Astell & Kern SE300 - Roon Ready through new firmware

With the latest firmware, the Astell & Kern SE300 now joins the ranks of DAP systems from Astell & Kern that are certified as so-called Roon Ready solutions. Gradually, all current portable hi-res audio players of the Astell & Kern brand will be certified as Roon Ready. The specialist for personal audio devices set this goal some time ago and is now gradually implementing it.

The latest firmware is firmware v1.030 and it is now available for all users.

Roon Ready and some other detail improvements

Apart from the possibility of directly accessing the contents of a central Roon server via the Astell & Kern SE300, the new firmware for the DAP naturally also offers other detailed improvements and innovations.

For example, the manufacturer says that the overall system stability has been significantly improved and the performance optimised. In addition, the user can now choose between five and ten minutes after which the DAP display switches off when not in use. The list of favourites has also been extended and can now include up to 1,000 titles.

Prices and availability

The latest firmware for the Astell & Kern SE300 is now available free of charge to all users of this DAP and can be downloaded directly as a so-called OTA firmware update (over-the-air), provided the DAP is connected to the network via WiFi.

Getting to the point

Now also the Astell & Kern SE300, more and more DAP systems from Astell & Kern are being upgraded by the developers for Roon of the software forge Roon Labs LLC., in the case of the said Astell & Kern SE300 this is made possible by a new, now available firmware.
