The German company sonoro audio GmbH quite rightly sees itself as one of the leading suppliers of high-quality audio products, with the Neuss-based company recognising early on that more and more users want the most versatile, elegant and, above all, good-sounding All-in-One systems possible. In other words, solutions that are particularly easy to integrate into any living environment, yet have hardly any disadvantages compared to classic HiFi systems, especially in the compact segment.

Now sonoro audio GmbH is once again presenting such an All-in-One system, whereby the new sonoro AVATON is a compact, yet powerful-sounding and extremely flexible solution.

Compact 2.1-channel sound system

The new sonoro AVATON measures no more than 510 mm in width, 262 mm in depth and 140 mm in height. The design is entirely in line with sonoro audio GmbH’s longstanding tradition of using a hand-sanded wooden housing with a high-quality lacquer finish and an aluminium front. Customers can choose between matt white combined with silver, matt black combined with black and matt graphite combined with silver.

The sonoro AVATON is designed as a 2.1-channel system; the stereo music system with two 0.75 T-inch tweeters and two 3-inch midrange drivers therefore has an integrated subwoofer in the form of a 5.25-inch woofer for an optimised performance across the entire frequency range.

Signal processing is carried out using DSP, so that algorithms such as 3D Sound and Dynamic Bass are available in addition to an equaliser.

The speakers described in the sonoro AVATON are powered by five Class D amplifier modules.

Various sources for flexible use

The sonoro AVATON initially has various interfaces for external sources, first and foremost an HDMI port, which is designed for the integration of a TV set and thus functions as ARC and supports HDMI CEC. In addition to a USB-A port, there is also a USB-C port on the new sonoro AVATON.

Furthermore, the sonoro AVATON has a coaxial and an optical S/PDIF interface for digital sources and, in addition to a Line In designed as a pair of RCA sockets, a 3.5 mm stereo mini jack is also available for analogue sources. Another 3.5 mm stereo mini jack is available for headphones.

For radio lovers, the sonoro AVATON is equipped with both an FM and DAB tuner.

Streaming in all its guises

The new sonoro AVATON naturally offers the greatest flexibility when it is integrated into the network, which can be done either via the integrated WiFi module in accordance with IEEE 802.11ax or via an RJ45 Ethernet interface.

As a dlna-certified streaming client, the sonoro AVATON initially supports UPnP, but also Apple AirPlay and Google Cast, as well as TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect and Qobuz Connect. Of course, Internet radio can also be accessed, with a total of 99 favourites memories available for all ‘types of play’ to provide direct access.

It should also be mentioned that the sonoro AVATON is prepared for integration into smart home solutions; sonoro audio GmbH is known to work with Gira and Busch & Jäger as well as JUNG in this regard.

Of course, Bluetooth should not be missing, so that streaming is also possible in the simplest way without a network infrastructure. It is interesting to note that this is a Bluetooth transceiver module, meaning that signals can not only be received but also sent. This allows not only smartphones as source devices, but also the integration of Bluetooth headphones. The sonoro AVATON even supports the Auracast standard via Bluetooth LE Audio.

Simple operation

In addition to a 4-inch TFT colour display, the front has a series of buttons and a rotary encoder for convenient operation. The sonoro AVATON also comes with a matching infrared remote control and the sonoro audio app is also available for control via smartphone.

The new sonoro AVATON will soon be available from specialist retailers at a recommended retail price of € 1.199,-, according to the manufacturer from Neuss.
