The new REL Tzero MKIII is in every aspect a worthy subwoofer of the REL T-Series, but even a bit smaller, this is how REL Acoustics Ltd. describes the latest solution, which is designed for home cinema as well as stereo and should find its place even where it is not available for conventional subwoofers.
Although subwoofers are indispensable components in the home cinema sector and are often used in classic stereo systems, there are hardly any proven specialists left who are completely dedicated to this special product group. The reason for this is probably that most loudspeaker manufacturers offer subwoofers for their own product lines. But there are still some specialists, such as REL Acoustics Ltd., who have really dedicated themselves to the development and manufacture of subwoofers.
The latest product from REL Acoustics Ltd. is good proof that proven specialists can still bring their very special expertise to bear when it comes to developing special solutions. The new REL Tzero MKIII is a particularly small subwoofer of the REL T-Series, which nevertheless offers a sovereign reproduction in the lowest frequency range, as the manufacturer himself says, which is a real REL through and through, only smaller…
This promise is remarkable for the reason alone that REL Acoustics Ltd. can offer truly powerful and impressive subwoofers, but is also a proven expert in particularly compact solutions. So when one now claims to have a particularly space-saving solution on offer, this probably arouses the curiosity of many HiFi and Home Cinema lovers.
After all, a subwoofer is usually no great ornament for a living room, the design cannot be that elegant and sophisticated. It is and remains a “box”, whether in black, white or whatever paint finish is used. Finding a place for it where it can be hidden as much as possible but still be effective in doing its job is often a challenge.
Compact loudspeaker systems, above all, require support in the lowest frequency range. And this is exactly what the new REL Tzero MKIII is designed for.
Therefore the most important key data, the dimensions of the subwoofer, are the same. The subwoofer measures no more than 216 mm in width, 241 mm in height and 260 mm in depth, making it a mere 6.8 kg. The subwoofer is available in white and black.
The new REL Tzero MKIII is designed as a closed construction, so that an especially “crisp”, powerful, and at the same time concise bass is offered, which has been the strength of REL Acoustics Ltd. for years and days, and which they want to play out in the smallest format.
The basis for this is a 6.5 inch aluminium long-throw woofer fired by a Class D amplifier module with 100 watts RMS, whereby the amplifier is a REL NextGen Class D amplifier and the driver was specially developed for the particularly compact dimensions of the new REL Tzero MKIII. It is a so-called down-firing subwoofer, meaning that the driver is directed downwards, thus ensuring even dispersion into the room.
Even though the new REL Tzero MKIII is kept particularly small, this does not change the fact that REL Acoustics Ltd. also provides all relevant connections and, above all, all relevant controls for optimal adjustment. In addition to a low level input and an LFE input, both designed as RCA sockets, a high level input in the form of a Neutrik socket with its own level control is also available.
The manufacturer explicitly points out that the new REL Tzero MKIII is not designed for medium or large rooms, but there are countless other models available. Its task is to provide rich bass in small rooms, whether stereo or home cinema.
The new REL Tzero MKIII should be available in the shops soon. As already described, you can choose between high-gloss white and high-gloss black. The manufacturer states a price of GBP 349,- for the new REL Tzero MKIII, as soon as we have the local price, we will of course provide this information later.
