As a new family member of the Lyngdorf TDAI Series, the Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 presents itself as a stereo integrated amplifier, which, in addition to the proven digital amplifier technology and the patented room correction Lyngdorf RoomPerfect, offers extensive streaming functionalities.
“The ultimate streaming amplifier”, the Danish company SL Audio A/S is promoting the latest Lyngdorf Audio brand solution that extends the so-called Lyngdorf TDAI Series, namely the Lyngdorf TDAI-1120.
This new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 is intended to offer no less than the ultimate in flexibility. There are not too many analog interfaces available, only two pairs of RCA jacks are presented at the rear of the new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120, one of which is a phono preamplifier designed for drives with MM pick-up systems and offers 47 kOhm and 10 pF as practical key data. The Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 is much more versatile when it comes to digital sources, as it provides two coaxial and two optical S/PDIF interfaces. In addition, and for the sake of completeness, it also has an analogue output, again designed as a pair of RCA sockets. An HDMI connection is also available, whereby a so-called ARC, i.e. an audio return channel for signal transmission from the TV set, is provided. Bluetooth is also a must, so that mobile devices such as smartphones can be directly integrated. For the integration of data carriers as a source it has a USB port type A. Trigger inputs and outputs allow control with other components.
The new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 should of course be able to develop its full flexibility in a network, for which it is equipped with an RJ45 Ethernet interface. In addition, an integrated WiFi module is also available, which complies with the IEEE 802.11ac standard and thus offers sufficient performance for wireless signal transmission of network data.
In the network, the new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 is indeed an extremely flexible solution, as it initially supports UPnP, whereby dlna certification is also guaranteed, but much more essential is the direct support of Google Chromecast as well as Apple AirPlay, namely Apple AirPlay 2. The new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 is also compatible with Spotify including Spotify Connect, so that any streaming offer can be used either directly or via corresponding apps for Apple iOS or Google Android. This also includes Internet Radio, which is shown here primarily via vTuner. In addition, and this is probably becoming more and more important, the new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 is designated as Roon Ready and can be used directly via the media management and multiroom audio streaming software from Roon Labs LLC.
The Class D amplifier delivers twice 120 watts of power to loudspeaker systems with an impedance of 4 ohms, still twice 60 watts to speakers with an impedance of 8 ohms.
An outstanding feature of the new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 is once again its Lyngdorf RoomPerfect room correction system, which is designed to provide perfect results based on the individual room conditions and speaker placement with optimized frequency response, level matching and bass management. For this purpose, a microphone input in the form of an XLR jack is available at the rear of the new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120; the corresponding cable including microphone and microphone stand is included in the scope of delivery.
A matching infrared remote control is also included in the scope of delivery, which guarantees convenient control. However, the operating concept of the new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 also includes a generously dimensioned, graphic-capable display, which can be found in combination with a rotary encoder for input selection and another rotary encoder for volume as well as a standby button directly on the front.
The fact that a suitable app will also be offered in the form of the Lyngdorf Remote Application is almost a matter of course for Apple iOS and Google Android. In addition, the new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 can also be controlled directly from any web browser, via its web interface. For custom installation solutions, it is also essential that the new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 also has IP Control.
The new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 measures 10.1 x 30 x 26 cm and weighs 8 kg. It is offered exclusively in matt black and, according to information currently available, should be available in specialist shops at the end of April 2020 or the beginning of May 2020. The recommended retail price is stated as € 1,999.
Getting to the point
This new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 is intended to offer no less than the ultimate in flexibility. However, there are not too many analog interfaces available, but more digital ones, and the integration into the network opens up the full potential of the new Lyngdorf TDAI-1120.
