The Tankturm in Heidelberg is the setting for the World of Headphones organised by High End Society Service GmbH, which describes it as the spring kick-off event. It all began with a special exhibition as part of High end 2022 in Munich, when the organiser of the world’s largest trade fair for high-end consumer electronics, High End Society Service GmbH, wanted to take account of developments in the market with the so-called World of Headphones and thus give the personal audio sector a larger space.
This special exhibition was so successful that the decision was ultimately made to establish the World of Headphones as its own specialised trade fair, designed purely as a public exhibition. This was an extremely smart move, as High End Society Service GmbH quickly succeeded in establishing the events, which take place in Heidelberg and Essen, as an integral part of the German HiFi scene’s event calendar.
World of Headphones makes a stop in Heidelberg
It has therefore become a tradition for the World of Headphones to stop off in Heidelberg in the spring, and in an unusual location at that. The venue is the Tanktum Heidelberg, which attracts visitors with its unmistakable industrial ambience.
Trade fair for headphones as an experience for the senses
The special feature of the World of Headphones is that interested parties can actually try out personal audio products to their heart’s content on site, with expert representatives from the exhibitors on hand to offer help and advice. This is an absolute novelty, especially in the field of headphones; even in the specialised trade it is often not possible to do more than pick up the packaging, which of course makes a realistic, practical personal assessment virtually impossible.

According to the organiser, more than 40 renowned brands from manufacturers, distributors and specialist retailers from all over Germany will be represented at the World of Headphones in the Tankturm Heidelberg, presenting their latest products and solutions. The spectrum ranges from over-ear headphones for perfect music enjoyment to in-ear headphones for everyday use, but also includes everything the market has to offer in terms of headphone solutions.
