Dynaudio Symphony Opus One - HiFi Luxury in soundbar systems
The new Dynaudio Symphony Opus One from Danish company Dynaudio A/S is set to be a new benchmark in soundbar systems. The new soundbar system from Denmark is 73 inches wide and equipped with a total of 24 drivers that are powered by 1.500 watts of power.
- Dynaudio A/S describes the new Dynaudio Symphony Opus One as a state-of-the-art soundbar system, an audio solution for immersive 3D surround sound.
The Danish company Dynaudio A/S is primarily known for its loudspeaker systems in the Pro Audio and Consumer Audio segments, with solutions in both the HiFi and Home Cinema segments. Surprisingly, however, one product group has so far been left out, even though it has been very popular with consumers, namely soundbar systems.
Dynaudio A/S now surprises with a solution in the soundbar system sector that is intended to set new standards and is clearly intended as a product in the premium segment, namely the new Dynaudio Symphony Opus One.
New at CES 2025
The new Dynaudio Symphony Opus One will probably celebrate its premiere at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, although the project is not entirely new. The Danish company was already able to show an initial design studio at CEDIA 2024, but this is now likely to have reached the final phase before the market launch this year.
Based on technologies from classic speaker systems
It will probably come as no surprise that Dynaudio A/S explicitly points out that the new Dynaudio Symphony Opus One is based on expertise and technologies from the development and production of classic speaker systems.
The new soundbar is to be understood as a vision of how the developers at Dynaudio A/S understand the future of an all-in-one system for home cinema, say the Danes about the new Dynaudio Symphony Opus One. It offers all the experience gained from half a century of striving for pure sound and combines this with outstanding Scandinavian design.
Powerful 73-inch soundbar system
As already mentioned at the beginning, the Dynaudio Symphony Opus One is a very powerful soundbar system, as this solution measures an impressive 73 inches in width and is therefore designed for generously sized screens.
Designed with an aluminium frame, the soundbar has a stylish fabric covering and motorised white oak slats to underline its elegant, modern look. This allows the soundbar to blend seamlessly into any modern living environment.
The above-mentioned motorised slats – 72 in total – also have a very practical purpose: they are varied depending on the listening mode for optimum sound dispersion.
Immersive 3D surround sound thanks to Dolby Atmos
The Dynaudio Symphony Opus One uses the same driver technology as the flagship Dynaudio Home HiFi systems, as well as the company’s solutions for professional studio and car audio systems.
A total of 24 drivers are used here, namely six soft-dome tweeters, 14 bass and midrange drivers, as well as four so-called dual-diaphragm force-cancelling subwoofers.
These are powered by Class D amplifier modules with a total output of 1.500 watts, whereby various listening modes are possible based on DSP-based signal processing. One of these is Immersive 3D Surround, which utilises Dolby Atmos. There is also a so-called Authentic Mode, in which the soundbar is designed to provide music of the highest quality as an outstanding HiFi system. According to the manufacturer, Soundstage Mode delivers a wide sound image and the so-called DeepDive Mode is also available for a virtual surround sound environment and therefore a wide sound stage.
It goes without saying that the new Dynaudio Symphony Opus One has all the relevant interfaces for integrating a wide range of sources and is also equipped with WiFi and Bluetooth for streaming.
According to information currently available, Dynaudio A/S is also planning the optional expansion of the Dynaudio Symphony Opus One with a suitable subwoofer and the possibility of transforming the audio system with surround speakers into an even more convincing home cinema system is also being planned.
Prices and availability
It is not yet clear when and at what price the new Dynaudio Symphony Opus One will actually be launched on the market, but Dynaudio A/S is clearly planning for mid-2025 at the latest. As a proven premium product, you should expect a very ambitious price, which is said to be around US$ 20.000,-.
Getting to the point
For a long time, the Danish company Dynaudio A/S did not pay any attention to soundbar systems, but now it wants to serve this segment with a solution that clearly belongs to the premium segment, if not the HiFi luxury segment, namely the new Dynaudio Symphony Opus One.
