The new Denon DCD-1700NE is clear proof that the consumer electronics company Sound United LLC., which now operates as Masimo Consumer, is convinced that the medium CD or Super Audio CD is far from being considered obsolete. Equipped with sophisticated technologies, it is intended to appeal primarily to audiophile music enthusiasts who want to get the most out of their silver discs. Of course, this new player is designed to be the ideal partner for the Denon PMA-1700NE Integrated Amplifier.
Denon DCD-1700NE – For a pristine listening experience
According to the manufacturer, the new Denon DCD-1700NE was designed with one goal in mind: to provide listeners with a pristine audio experience so they can enjoy their media in the best possible quality.

Denon Advanced AL32 Processing Plus
To this end, the new Denon DCD-1700NE is equipped with Denon Advanced AL32 Processing Plus, a technology that is based on digital content to guarantee the most perfect reproduction of analogue signals. The technology for reproducing analogue waveforms uses data interpolation algorithms, upsampling and bit extension to support high-resolution audio. The result, according to the manufacturer, is said to be highly detailed, noise-free reproduction that is expressive over a wide frequency range and faithful to the original sound.
Proprietary Denon drive
What’s more, the new Denon DCD-1700NE features a turntable specially designed by Denon’s developers, equipped with a so-called S.V.H. mechanism. This abbreviation stands for Suppress Vibration Hybrid and is intended to ensure that vibrations both inside and outside the drive are suppressed particularly effectively and thus cannot have any negative influence on the signal processing, in this case of course first and foremost the accurate reading of the data itself.
Hi-res audio up to 24 bit and 192 kHz as well as DSD128
In addition to audio CDs and Super Audio CDs, the new Denon DCD-1700NE can also play back data carriers with audio data in a wide range of formats, including hi-res audio. It supports data in Linear PCM with up to 24 bit and 192 kHz as well as DSD up to DSD128.
Signal processing is performed by a TI Advanced Current Segment PCM1795 DAC from Texas Instruments, using a master clock of exceptional quality. This is located directly next to the DAC, which suppresses jitter and ensures the highest precision in D/A conversion, according to the manufacturer’s promise. Two integrated clock oscillators reduce phase noise and address one sampling frequency each, i.e. 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz.

Shortest Signal Paths and Pure Direct Mode
It goes without saying that the developers have focused on the shortest possible signal paths and an optimised circuit design in which the individual components cannot have any negative effects on each other. It should also be mentioned that only components of the highest quality are used and that the final tuning is done by the so-called Denon Sound Masters. It was they who gave the new Denon DCD-1700NE a Pure Direct Mode.
The analogue outputs are a pair of RCA sockets and the digital outputs are an optical and coaxial S/PDIF interface. Balanced analogue outputs and digital inputs are not available.
Elegant design line from Denon
The new Denon DCD-1700NE naturally presents itself in the well-known current design line of the Denon brand, whereby the device has dimensions of 434 x 13Foto © Masimo Consumer | Denon DCD-1700NE Super Audio CD Player5 x 384 mm and thus weighs 9 kg.
The Denon DCD-1700NE is available in a choice of black or premium silver, according to Denon.
