Cambridge Audio introduces Spotify Lossless and Qobuz Connect to its network streamers

Cambridge Audio has rolled out two major updates for its proprietary streaming platform StreamMagic. Effective immediately, all users can enjoy lossless 24-bit audio via Spotify Connect. In addition, from October 8, 2025, a free firmware update will enable native Qobuz Connect integration on all StreamMagic devices built on the fourth-generation hardware.

Spotify Connect Lossless now active

Following Spotify’s announcement of its lossless tier, Cambridge Audio immediately enabled the feature across all StreamMagic devices from the second generation (since 2014). This means models such as the Azur 851N or first-generation CXN are instantly capable of streaming in higher fidelity. Users simply need to select the highest quality level in the Spotify app and stream directly via Spotify Connect – no firmware update required.

Qobuz Connect update coming October 8, 2025

From October 8, 2025, Cambridge Audio will push a free firmware update to all fourth-generation StreamMagic products (available since 2021). Eligible models include Evo 150, Evo 75, MXN10, AXN10, CXN100, EXN100, Evo One, and all Evo special editions.

The update allows direct playback from the Qobuz app, bypassing the StreamMagic app, and unlocks access to the full range of Qobuz Hi-Res formats.

Firmware updates – seamless and automatic

Cambridge Audio distributes firmware upgrades over the air. Devices automatically detect new versions and install them after user confirmation. While Spotify Lossless is already active on all compatible players, Qobuz Connect will be delivered gradually from October onwards.
