Advance Paris WTX-1100 – Bluetooth Receiver with aptX HD

With the new Advance Paris WTX-1100, a simple but high-quality solution will be available to expand any audio system with the possibility of transferring music directly from a smartphone via Bluetooth. New in this generation: aptX HD is now also supported.

The French hi-fi manufacturer Advance Acoustic has a long tradition of offering solutions for the simplest possible “wireless” signal transmission. It was one of the first traditional hi-fi manufacturers to rely on Bluetooth, which enables the easy integration of smartphones in particular, but also tablets and notebooks as sources. Over the years, the company has offered a wide range of Bluetooth adapters that can be used to add Bluetooth to almost any audio system.

The latest solution in this area from Advance Acoustic is called Advance Paris WTX-1100 and is the clear successor to the Advance Acoustic WTX 1000 aptX Wireless Receiver. The most striking innovation is that the current generation is now assigned to the Advance Paris brand, the more significant one being that from now on not only aptX but also aptX HD is supported.

Simplicity and an impeccable performance should distinguish the new Advance Paris WTX-1100, so the promise of the manufacturer, whereby one trusts in a newly conceived circuit inside the Bluetooth receiver. Thus, as just mentioned, a new Bluetooth 5.0 module is used, which, in addition to the AAC codec, supports aptX for the Apple world and thus signal transmission in “CD quality”, as well as aptX HD for hi-res audio. At least it can transmit content with up to 24 bit and 48 kHz, of course only if the source device allows this.

Further signal processing in the new Advance Paris WTX-1100 is handled by a tri-core processor, in the form of a combination of a 32-bit dual-core and a 120 MHz single-core processor and a Cirrus Logic CS4344 24-bit 192 kHz DAC. This is intended to achieve a particularly good dynamic range and particularly low jitter for the best possible quality, according to the description of the French company.

The new Advance Paris WTX-1100 features an analogue output, designed as a pair of RCA sockets, and digital outputs, both as optical and coaxial S/PDIF interfaces.

Power is supplied via a micro-USB interface with the typical 5 V DC, so that a suitable USB interface on an amplifier or active loudspeaker system can be used for this purpose without the need for a separate power supply.

The new Advance Paris WTX-1100 is a very compact solution in discreet black, “packed” into a solid metal housing. The front only contains the main switch and two status LEDs, that’s all you need. An external antenna guarantees a smooth signal transmission between the source device and the Advance Paris WTX-1100.

The new Advance Paris WTX-1100 should already be available in specialist shops these days. The recommended retail price is € 229,-.
